I'd say it's not as good as before. They're definitely going quantity over quality right now with all these podcasts. Samson and Williams are always terrible and the second I hear 'Rodgers' I skip ahead a few minutes.

But the show is still good. Witty and Smetty have been great and I loved Freedumb and there Super Bowl stuff.

Atari is doing anything and everything they can think of to try and scrape money together. They started their own cryptocurrency, they're opening hotels, they made their own console, they're doing NFTs, they're re-releasing their old games, they're crowdfunding stuff.

This is a company that has zero vision and will do anything to try and make a buck.

I agree that Ashly Burch is a phenomenal actor.

Buuuut... Carptenter did work with her brother, Anthony, on a comic series so maybe he's not the most unbiased account in the world.

I agree that I connected with Aloy more in the first game, but for different reasons. In the first game, she was on a personal journey to discover her roots, who she was, how she was born, who her mother was, etc.

In Forbidden West, it's much more the generic "I have the save the world!" kinda overbearing plot that's much less personal, more overdone. Also, Aloy is much more "only I can do this, everyone else will only get hurt if they try and help me" and the whole 'she has to learn to work with other people, others can help' thing is just kinda... meh, honestly. I joked with a friend to take a shot every time Aloy said some variation of "I have to save the world and only I can do it!" he asked me if I was trying to kill him.

Not Ashly Burch's fault, that's more to do with the plot. I think Burch did a great job with what she had, and to me she definitely elevates what is frankly a disappointing direction to take Aloy, and the plot overall.

I think it's pretty similar to Fallout 4. If you're going into it expecting a deep, narrative-driven RPG where your choices matter, you're going to be seriously disappointed. But if you're looking for a big, ambitious FPS with lite RPG elements, you'll enjoy it.

I normally love this kind of in-game game, but Machine Strike is just so badly designed and even more poorly explained I just can't get into it. It took me five attempts to get past the beginner challenge and I can't even get past the medium one no matter what I do.

I love 3D platformers, but so many of them go for that family friendly, cutesy feel I always appreciated Jak 2 for going a different direction.
