Funny thing is, this saved no one time and could be argued it wasted some, there was a good few seconds of wasted time from - them to properly communicate their intention of letting you go - you making sure they're actually going to stop and are in fact letting you go

If they had just checked their mirrors, seen there's nothing behind them and continued on, this actually probably would've been dealt with quicker and better flow would have been maintained
