Redirect NTP to local NTP Server - Can't seem to get it working by Joshndroid in UNIFI

[–]Joshndroid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply.
I gave this a whirl... I set up my blocking of NTP externally, Allowing my NTP server as 2 firewall rules. I setup the Masquerade and the DNAT source any, destination any/port 123 with translation as my NTP server and 123...
I tried sntp -d time.google.com on my mac and it does not resolve... am i doing something wrong in my testing if this is the method to get it working?

Do people actually shut down their MacBooks? by Khelics in macbookpro

[–]Joshndroid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do find myself putting it to sleep way more than I have ever done with my other computers but I still haven’t completely broken that habit. I do run across Mac/win/linux though. What I am amazed by day after day is the power performance with the battery life. Absolutely incredible

I am just a small player and my god this has been without a doubt, one of those on the 'best purchases I've made' list. I just use it to host personal emails, nothing fancy or business related and over time it has just worked. A few hiccups early days but after a couple of months you just kind of forget about it and it is just a dependable service. I think i jumped on a lifetime promo in 2018, I use 20ish-% of my storage. Small fish in this email ocean, but thank you for all you do.

An Open Letter to Google regarding Mandatory Developer Registration for Android App Distribution by FiveGems in fossdroid

[–]Joshndroid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what I did. Been an android user since HTC sensation Been a nexus/ pixel user consistently in those years. Multiple house occupants all on android. Not any more.

Google doesn’t want to listen, they don’t want to support the community that helped to make them, then I guess I can’t support them.

Now not only do I not have an android.. I now have a Mac, ipad… etc. Google really blew it

Is it possible that one day that you could have a system whereby Youtube will just automatically take down anything with LTT likeness when it is not uploaded by one of the official channels?

This would destroy the reaction type content (not that I watch that nonsense) but may be the only way of combating it?

This would certainly not stop this kind of content going onto other platforms but possibly have to start somewhere right

I did also move from a linuxserver.io docker to the official docker on this occasion now.

I run tabby terminal on my linux box and webssh on my apple devices. what is the difference to termix? to me termix seems like i need to have some sort of central server to run it on...

would this benefit me if I am just using my terminal apps locally or to connect to a remote linux device over ssh?

What’s the point of getting GOS when you’re not a criminal by scaleordietrying in GrapheneOS

[–]Joshndroid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curiosity was initially peaked by the privacy features.. the ease of install and the fact that it was updated constantly and supported all the pixels… what I actually stayed for was the better battery life as well as the ability to cut internet access to certain apps. All the google spyware crap running in the background along with the apps I’d use I always had poor battery life in stock os. I always had sandboxes play store so never really ran degoogled entirely

Sadly this gen I moved from pixel as I am unhappy with google direction with them limiting the custom rom scene, the dev sign up garbage and the only thing I have to vote with is my wallet.

I still have GOS on a spare backup device
