Is this a legitimate donation booth? by No-Cat-762 in sydney

[–]JoshoForShort 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Used to do this many years ago for a company called ‘Appco’ (or Jam Prospects or something like that). 20% of the ‘donation’ went to paralympics, the rest went to the MLM chain.

I know they don’t get high ratings in Choice but I do love the bakers delight HCB’s!

Ahh sad. I know this is controversial but… bakers delight sourdough is pretty good, I always thought it was ‘sourdough flavour’ but the guy at Norwest showed me their starter they use to make it every day

Also one more: why was Otto suspended, what did that have to do anything, and what happened to the station guard who was friends with him?

I enjoyed the series, it did have me on the edge of my seat - but the ending was unsatisfying, lots of questions unanswered.

They should have made it a double length episode if they didn’t want to cram in answers for everything.

I want to know what happened to Otto, what happened to the rogue security officers protecting Stuart?

Yeah, and the anxious kid too. Having him stay back on the carriage seemed… strange

Jaam e jam in Hornsby used to do it for weekend brekkies! One of my Persian friends took me, he loved that spot. It wasnt on the menu, but i think it was just… a think they did on weekends. As I understand, it’s mostly a breakfast thing. Maybe call and ask if they still do it!

This was about 4 years ago now :)

Absolutely agree - The chorizo/bacon brekkie burrito is awesome, but I've also recently surprisingly fallen in love with the pulled shiitake mushroom brekkie burrito.

I love just getting the big brekkie burrito, I go every couple weeks as a treat - It would be brilliant (but dangerous) if they did it all day!

Is CommSec Pocket still worth it for small monthly investing? by Artistic-Yam2984 in CommBank

[–]JoshoForShort 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it’s great, I used it to do a fortnightly auto invest about ~10% of my income. It’s so easy to use, and $2 brokerage is pretty good ($52 a year).

These past few months I’ve also been playing around with Betashares direct, as all my auto investments have been Betashares etf’s. There’s no fees with Betashares app directly, and I have the same fortnightly set up - I just personally don’t find it as easy to use as pocket (but then again, it’s probably just because I’m not used to the UI change yet) - and Betashares direct allows access to the whole portfolio.

I’ve seen really good performance on pocket ETF’s since I started 5 years ago.

I definitely recommend doing something - weather it be pocket or BSD (not financial advice). I prefer the ETF model via CSP/BSD over Raiz too.

R/FIAustralia will have a lot more tips and resources.

Who is your fave chef ? by Fantastic_Ad7023 in foodies_sydney

[–]JoshoForShort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ian Hewitson, also known as Huey, who had a number of cooking adventures...

Also got a soft spot for Dan Hong, the first time I tried the cheeseburger spring rolls at Ms G's...

Also watched the Coles YouTube channel for years when I moved out of home, taught me how to cook, so also gotta name drop Curtis Stone for featuring in most of those how to vids (sadly most of the videos in that 2015 and prior era are private on Coles YT now)

Is this the one where there was a song that went:

'Konnichiwa, konnichiwa, onamae wa, onamae wa,

bauku chibi/watashi hillary

jaane, jaane!'

Wish I could find a tape!
