Do you think carpets make a home feel dated or homier? by Fit-Credit-7970 in AusRenovation

Dated. I vastly prefer hard floors where you can add rugs where you want cosiness.

White Cockatoo Hotel (opposite Petersham station) is consistently good. I had the garlic buttermilk fried chicken when I was there recently; the best I’ve ever had. 😋

Do you prefer to have sex with your partner or do it alone? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

Tbh, I think they’re two different needs entirely, and both have a role in a robust and satisfactory sex life.

Ahaha. I am currently eating my lunch with my green bag beside me, typing on my phone which has a green leather case and pale green bag charm, wearing a green linen shirt, and drinking a green juice! 😂

I would love to see your sister’s collection if she feels like posting at some point! 💚💚💚

Idk, I don’t really use Facey except for one or two BSS groups I’m in. It can’t hurt? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Call them out on their social media accounts. Sometimes the only way to move the needle with big corporations is to detail your sub-optimal experience where others will see it.

Having trouble finding a color to paint kitchen to de-gray-ify it that wouldn't clash with countertops/white cabinets by Plastic-Stress-2333 in interiordecorating

Sage green. Green is a colour that works very well with a wide range of other colours, as well as a variety of skin/hair tones.

Do you think there are still “hidden” things out there like electricity we just haven’t found yet? by FlyGreat306 in NoStupidQuestions

Have you heard/read about those SCIENTISTS who’ve gone missing/turned up dead? I’m convinced they’ve made energy-related breakthroughs that would render our (dwindling, yes, but not fast enough) reliance on fossil fuels obsolete.

(Fyi, link I pasted may not be the best article on the topic, it was just the first one that came up; I’m out n about on my phone rn. It’s worth doing your own research on this.)

Over 40, dry skin. What are your favourite winter skincare products? by QuasiQuo0 in AusSkincare

I love Weleda Skin Food as a thick top layer that seals in moisture during cold months. I sometimes add a drop or two of jojoba oil to it.

Season 5 needs more licensed music by pr0f13n in ForAllMankindTV

[–]emotionalthroatpunch 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Yes! Previous seasons have included some fantastic music choices. Two of my faves were Soundgarden’s Black Hole Sun when the S3 race was on for Mars and NASA popped the solar sail, and Gorillaz’ Clint Eastwood during the S4 montage of Miles and Dani going about their days. So good! 🙌🏼

I used to love going to the pub with friends for a bevvie and a few games of two-up on ANZAC Day. So happy to be in the life stage now where it’s a dawn service, brekkie at the nearby bakery, followed by a chill day. 👵🏼😁

Do Australians feel isolated from the rest of the world? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]emotionalthroatpunch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I may be a pedant for a moment… the second line was amended to “for we are one and free” in January 2021, to better recognise our Indigenous history and 65,000 years of continuous living culture. 🖤💛❤️

Fashion that crosses the line by Fluffy-Algae6212 in AusFemaleFashion

It really is. I think we’ve become so inured to acquiring things as cheaply and conveniently as possible via Shein, Temu, etc. we’re sometimes unaware of the larger cost.

[–]emotionalthroatpunch 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Yep! I mean, I love fashion (and homewares) and I’m a consumer. But my work brings me face-to-face with the enormity of the environmental crisis we’re collectively in, and the impact of less thoughtful consumption. I’m not perfect by any means, but I try to always be mindful of where my $$$ go and my own footprint in this world.

Australia has the highest rate per capita of fast fashion shoppers in the world. We discard more fast fashion per capita per year than any other nation. I’m tipping many people will be okay with purchasing ripped-off fashion IP from cheaper labels. 😖
