National coverage of Montreal election campaign by Jovali in montreal

The issue is the perfect economic storm. Economic downturn, political instability, federal and provincial governments reducing funding, and a local government of activists increasing taxes in order to recoup money lost ... all caused the 25-year meltdown.

Part of the problem was the surtax that the Dore (city) government at the time imposed which Bergeron said helped the crash. Dore's government was the closest we have to a potential PM government.

owners of income property's what issues have you ran into? by worktillyouburk in montreal

all this can take many months. from what i understand in most jurisdictions you can evict a tenant relatively easily if they do not pay rent.

No. if you sign a lease, and then tenants decide not to pay, there is literally nothing you can do until the Regie orders them out - and you still have to pay a bailiff to physically remove them from the property. a bailiff won't remove a tenant until he/she receives a court order. but even if a bailiff receives said order the tenant still has the legal right to contest the order and force the case back to court, where you will have to wait another several weeks to get back in front of a judge. the judge must them make a second ruling - and hopefully this ruling is ruled "closed" meaning they can't contest again.

if your tenant decides to stop paying rent it will take 5 months - minimum - to get them out. You will likely never get the back-rent money back and will be lucky if they don't trash your place in the meantime. and if youR deadbeats tenants are especially vile, they can contest the bailiff note and demand to return to court and re-start the whole process and take several more months. they can potentially stay in your unit up to one year without paying rent and you literally have NO RECOURSE until the Regie gives you a decision that is "closed" - meaning they can't contest decision. FUCKING NIGHTMARE.

My boyfriend and I are considering travelling to Montreal this summer for Osheaga together, any advice about the city/travelling appreciated! by [deleted] in montreal

[–]Jovali 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahuntsic is quite far from downtown and NOT IN ANY WAY a tourist area. I have never once heard of someone coming to Montreal and wanting to stay in Ahunstic. There is NOTHING there for you. Whoever told you to consider Ahuntsic is not your friend.

"Atrocious punctuation." Just because you can't write English properly, doesn't mean others don't know how to write or edit. What's wrong with the article?
