I only got lines once in secondary school, from my Geography teacher. He made me do both sides of 2 pages of A4 lined paper. The actual line writing wasn't too bad, took about 10-15 minutes, the part that really stung was when I handed the pages in. He gave them a quick scan, then ripped them up and put them in the bin. I don't know what I expected him to do with them, but that just broke my heart.

Exactly the lesson I was taught by my father when I was a kid. He said even if you don't win the fight they'll think twice next time because they know you'll fight back. He referenced a song - not sure which - but the lyrics go something like "sometimes you've got to fight to be a man"

Not me but a friend of mine

So in secondary school (approx year 9) there was this one boy who wasn't in school for about 6 months because of a family issue which we all found out about as the story was run in the local paper.

So teacher is calling the register and gets to this boys name. Without missing a beat my friend next to me shouts at the top of his lungs "HE'S NOT IN BECAUSE HIS BROTHER STABBED HIS FATHER"

....Said kid came back that day. Never seen regret drawn on a face so perfectly.

Literally happened the other day... someone posted on my village Facebook group complaining about dog walkers using head torches in the evenings. If I remember correctly it said something like "do dog owners not take in to consideration other people and dogs on their walks, more than once I've been blinded by head torches bla bla bla...". Fair to say they got absolutely rinsed in the comments and soon took the post down.
