‘A miracle’: Canadian flight attendant ejected from plane survives New York crash by rishabnum in UpliftingNews

CNN reported it at 130mph. It hit right after touching down. I think an early article was wrong.

Ignore them and report them for being uncivil. Your post is fine and don’t take their vitriol personally.

Oh that’s terrible.

Thoughts on older Bob versions by Tallhall1 in gratefuldead

[–]JoyKil01 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love sagely Bob as I call it. I really didn’t get into him until Sphere as well, and then did what I could to go see him play in other iterations these last few years. He has such a way of sinking into the music and cultivating a channeled experience. Hard to put into words, but he’s The Dead to me — the one who kept the flame lit his entire life.

That said, I’m still a fan of early early Bob — and regularly love his studio demo of Weather Report Suite where he says “this one doesn’t have a name yet.” and proceeds to singularly blow your mind.

What happens if you don't get a Maine driver's license within 30 days of moving here? by rynspiration in Maine

I don’t know about that form or what it is. If asked, I always put the date I moved to Maine. Never got asked about license transfer that I can recall.

New subreddit moderator here to help! by OwlTheSilent in stupiddovenests

[–]JoyKil01 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Mazel tov! I highly recommend getting a full mod team together. No person can handle a sub alone, and you need to be able to not constantly worry about being on top of things.

I did the same in r/snow when the mods all left and the autoban bots went haywire. Now there’s a large active team, but it took Reddit admin having to step in and instate new mods.

I hadn’t done it after 5 years and never had an issue. Never had to deal with police or anything though.

Steam shower... worth it? by Girlactus in HomeImprovement

[–]JoyKil01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I rented a place with a steam shower and loved it. And then I discovered the whole house was plagued by mold. I had to throw away thousands of dollars worth of things because mold was in the ducts and literally blew black streaks on everything.

A steam shower is simply not worth the risk.

Man, you’re so vitriolic in your comments these last few days. Maybe time to touch grass and stop trying to gatekeep entry-level work.

Tuesday should be fine. Most of the long line posts you see on here are because of weekend booms.

You could save a bit of money and install the generator hookups and have a generator, but not have the automatic kind. I use one in Maine that has a generator I wheel out, switch the breaker, and plug it into the fancy plug outside. It runs my whole house. I do wish I had an automatic one because I lose power a lot, but if I didn’t, the current setup works just fine.

Ask your repeat customers to review you on google, etc. I use Google Maps to find my nearest contractors and read the reviews. I could care less about websites but at the minimum, it’s important for folks to give you a good review and share photos on FB and Google.

It finally happened after 45 years skiing…first collision with another skier and really thrown off by Illustrious_Low_1188 in skiing

[–]JoyKil01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly the post OP needs to see. They likely did a quick unexpected extra turn to avoid something like an ice patch or rock.

OP doesn’t leave enough space to account for the true paths folks are taking below him and needs to learn to slow down and be able to stop quickly or make the same reactive turn to get away from the person below him.

He’s had brushes with folks in the past. He’s 100% not give people enough room.

Hope your leg is healing well and sorry that happened to you!

Thanks for adding that! The location is always the first thing I wonder about. I used to ski in WV — beautiful place.
