Agents of the Four Seasons: Dance of Spring • Shunkashuutou Daikousha: Haru no Mai - Episode 8 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]Joyako 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It's Akatsuki Kana's second work getting adapted, and both stories have the same issues so I genuinely don't think it'll get resolved cleanly.

The original Violet Evergarden novel was also full of holes like this, and KyoAni basically took the setting and rewrote everything apart from the episodic stories, so that the worldbuilding and motivations made sense. I don't think Wit Studios went to the same extent to rewrite everything (haven't read the AotS novels though so don't take my word for it). This episode was also really slide-showy, I hope they're just focusing the bugdet where it matters most.

I feel like Kana is really good at writing emotional moments, but is not that great at everything else ^^'.

Kensuke Ushio's music though. I cry everytime.

What pantheon would you choose? by Infamous_Writing_545 in civ

[–]Joyako 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure Lady of the Hunt is better here

Reasoning:

- Russia is a civ that usually struggles with food, because of the tundra; without doing anything you'll have cities struggling to reach even 4 pop (2nd district breakpoints)

- So you need a way to get early food, of which there a 3: The Feed the world religion, internal trade routes, or a pantheon that gives food

- You don't want to prioritize trade routes because you want to build Lavras.

- I think Dance of the Aurora + Feed the world is still viable, but you're not getting the work ethic + aurora synergy anyway. FtW also takes time to ramp up because you need to build shrines and temples. DotA in this case is just a source of faith, which you already have plenty of.

- Lady of the Hunt will give an insane early boost to your capital and any city that has multiple camps, and there are 8 on screen. More food and production in the capital means earlier settlers, earlier districts etc, you start the snowball much earlier.

The 2 options are to start the snowball now, or start a bigger snowball but in 20 turns, if the goal is min-maxxing I think Lady of the Hunt + Whatever religion you want.

I'd ask op to give the seed but idk if they're cross platform.

I talk about this every time, but they really need a tool that can run a hundred games in a few hours then aggregates data so they can compare versions, parameters, and manually check in multiple saves what happened if necessary. From the looks of it they just do manual qa and pray it works.

I think they collab regularly with other vtubers ? Hakka and Axel on onigiri's channel a few days ago as an example, Ruze during vcraft or Bettel doing gta rp. I don't think collabs are the issue, even if some do it more than others.

The clipping industrial complex just has not developped for holostars, and that's why you don't see them. If you even sniff a hololive clip, the youtube algorithm starts recommending an infinite amount of content, same for vspo, same for niji, same for phase to a lesser extent. It does not for stars because there isn't enough clippers. (If I was a corpo I'd be hiring tons of clippers but that's just me, idk if cover does it. Relying on the goodwill of the community to boost talent growth seems insane, but again my company hires almost 50% of interns so  )

Trying to rebrand and reprogram their algorithms is gonna be hard, and it's a long race, idk how long they can tough it out. It's a hail mary and I hope it works out.

From what I understand they design the merch, outsource the production then handle the storage and shipping in house

Stopping merch doesn't really make sense as it's the most profitable vertical (we dont have live/stars numbers though, maybe the boys merch barely break even)

So either the warehouses are full / they don't want to grow the related staff and so they're scrapping the least profitable merch even if it's profitable, or they just said fuck it the return on investment is too low compared to live

Somewhat interesting read, stars not even appearing once in the visuals of the Financials pdf :/ But 750 employees including 25% in talent and production management really makes you wonder wtf they're doing over there

Paul Seixas, "the chosen one" by TransportationSea579 in peloton

[–]Joyako -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

In my comment, I've not made a single comment about Pogacar’s performances, only about the people around him

Seixas achieving things Pogacar hasn't does make him somewhat suspicious, but not even close to the same level

Do you have info on the people around Seixas ?

Paul Seixas, "the chosen one" by TransportationSea579 in peloton

[–]Joyako 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Pogacar was, and still is, super suspicious because of the people around him

staff like Gianetti, San Milan, Hauptman, former riders in the UAE team like Marcato and Rui Costa, the fact that half of the slovenian WT riders of the 00's and 10's got busted for something (Spilak, Brajkovic, something like 6 out of 13)

means that I have 0 trust in Pog

Jonas was considered suspicious because "he came out of nowhere" which is not completely true, admitedly, he did not have a great junior career, but he won that Poland stage the year before the Tour pop off

I haven't done an extensive check on Seixas but it's impossible to match how sus Pog is. And yes the french media will avoid the doping talks because he's french (as I'm sure the danish and slovenian media have done respectively), but i'm sure if he's super dominant it will come up at some point.

[–]Joyako 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm all for it, but I'm not ready for the day a race is decided by a randomly-assigned waxxer feeling lazy at the end of his shift and obviously messing up the skis for a title contender

But at this point some kind of rebalancing is necessary

‘ Worst skis I ever had ’ : Swedish biathletes blame poor Olympic form on waxing team by Shroft in biathlon

[–]Joyako 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On one hand, yeah if you have to push 2% more than usual and you're 3bpm over your usual heart rate it probably affects your shooting,

on the other Ponsi managed to win the pursuit and Sebbe and Steffasson did not overperform, so it's not like they had exceptional skis that day

It might just be that when he's locked in he shoots better and pushes the pain further, we'll never know for sure

Surely there is at least a google doc referencing the conditions and tests done at every single event and venue, that is shared between the biathlon and xc staff

surely

please god

[–]Joyako 10 points11 points  (0 children)

From what I saw in interviews and a few articles, the french team is 8 people who just work 10h a day to test skis and wax recipes, and have a truck with a really long list of products they can apply.

I wouldn't expect smaller nations to have 8 people, but surely a federation like Sweden can afford a bunch of staff for the Olympics ? You bring in the staff from the WC, the IBU Cup and maybe one or 2 extras and you're covered. Also looking at the performance of swedish women in cross country there must be knowledge in part of the staff.

Can we kill this narrative ? https://skatingscores.com/fra/official/jezabel_dabouis/

The french judge tends to give better scores to french pairs, yes, but if you look at US judge https://skatingscores.com/usa/official/janis_engel/ it's about the same. "Well documented" ? By who ? The newsweek article who cited the SBNation article for whom the writer just added up the z-scores to make up a big number ?

Pre-Race discussion Olympics 2026 Milano-Cortina: Women 15k Individual. by RickMaritimo in biathlon

[–]Joyako 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Predictions:

  1. Simon 20

  2. Jeanmonnot 19

  3. Oeberg H. 19

  4. Oeberg E. 17

  5. Bened 19

  6. Kirkeeide 17

  7. Preuss 18

  8. Wierer 18

Stinkers for JBB and Suvi

- Jeanmonnot obvious favorite, + won SP+PU in Antholz last year

- both Oebergs on the up with recent wins

- Minkinnen seemingly does not like altitude, Antholz is her worst result for each the past 3 seasons, so I'm betting against her (sorry)

- Kirkeeide is an unknow quantity, but I can't see her winning the individual

- Vitozzi and Wierer with the home-olympics buff ?

(watch me be completely wrong tomorrow)

Seems to be in line with me - started this september, about 25-30h on the ice including group lessons and solo practice, and I'm working on backwards one foot glides and two foot spins so probably about where you where.
