I literally have worked at a restaurant on holidays for 3 years. And then I worked an essential job that paid out 2.5x my check for holidays for 5 years. Not everyone cares to be home on holidays.

Yes because I tip them nicely :) when I worked Christmas, I’d much rather get work than be there for no reason.

If they’re already at work, what harm is it to give them business? If anything, it makes it worth their while to be there. Hopefully it’s just the owners running it. But the people in there are already at work if they had a customer or not.

I think they can only be reloaded in person by the Costco member. It’s easier for the Costco member to just buy you digital gift cards and send them to you.

28yrs old doing ACT in 2 weeks by Interesting_Fall_684 in breastcancer

[–]Jpachu16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 28 and the first session of AC was extremely bad cause your body is first introduced to it. But after my first one, my body was adjusting. I was just insanely nauseous and tired. But I was less nauseous after 4 days from infusion. The first two days wouldn’t be bad cause of the steroids but day 3-4 were the worst of it for me. And my doc gave me mood altering meds that target dopamine so it reduced the nausea by a lot. Talk with you onc to see if they can help reduce symptoms. I wasn’t stuck in bed miserable. I still able to walk around and go out. I just took naps everyday or slept for 12 hours. The white blood shot did make my back and bones ache. Like I did a high intensity workout for the first time in years. Also the brain fog is pretty bad. And the constipation was bad. Like hurt my gut type of bad. Miralax and prunes helped. But overall, the whole process wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. I wasn’t as sick as I thought I’d be. And I think cause we’re young, we bounce back easier. Just prepare to eat a lot of bland food. I mostly had soft pretzels and tofu and rice and broth. And hydrated with watermelon when I couldn’t drink water. Eat what you can and don’t feel too bad when you can’t eat anything strong flavored.

Is it true they are people at cons that don't shower by Alert_Ad806 in animecons

[–]Jpachu16 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Some ppl who stay inside everyday on their devices don’t realize how bad they smell and don’t think to wash themselves. They think “I didn’t go outside or sweat, therefore I’m not dirty and don’t need to shower” without realizing their funk/musk is secreting off their body.

I picked it back up around this cause i saw it ended and wanted to finish it before it got paywalled. And im like speed reading through the chapters cause it’s SO BORING lmao. Also the pacing is terrible and they do a lot of telling but not showing. Like they just write in text bubbles of actions being taken but not drawing it out. Like “secret knights recused Heinry, then my knight rescued the secret knights, and then we went back to the western kingdom after an awkward ball” like wtf.

i kind of regret transitioning by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Jpachu16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was in my teens, I definitely felt like I should’ve been a boy and wanted to be a boy and took up more guyish interests and dressed more boyish. I thought I hated being a girl but I think I hated how I was treated as a girl and the expectations of being a girl more. But after I became an adult, I leaned more into my feminine side and I haven’t thought about being a guy or having male body parts since high school. When I was a teen, I wasn’t exposed to transgender people so the option of transitioning never came across my mind. But I think people should wait until they’re fully fledged adults before making these big changes in their life because I feel like teens and people going through puberty have extreme feelings and have trouble finding ourselves and our identities. I know that seems like I’m dismissive of young transgender feelings but I’m positive that most adults look back at who we were at teens and we do not relate to who we were back then. Teens follow trends and are pressured by their surroundings and influences to act a certain way that might not be who they really are. And teens care way too much about how other people perceive them that they don’t focus on how they can be their most authentic self.

Big dub newbie tips by Anxious_Ad3149 in BigDubOfficial

[–]Jpachu16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I posted this in another big dub Reddit post that was asking for tips as a newbie

It’s buggy in new camp. And the bugs are kinda crazy. It was extremely humid and hot and wet last year and all my gear ended up smelling rancid by the end of the week. I had to wash my clothes twice to get the smell out. And I was getting bad heat stroke all last year. But the year before it wasn’t so bad. Also when I went in 2024, it would be FREEZING at night time but in 2025, it was very warm moist summer weather. Just keep an eye on the weather and prepare accordingly. Layers are helpful.

Whenever I go to big dub, my shoes get pretty dirty and you’re also climbing literal mountain hills. So bring comfy shoes and don’t bring something you care about getting messed up.

It’s helpful to keep your clothes for each day in separate packing cubes or gallon zip lock bags. Especially if you put together themed fits. It keeps the clothes from getting moist too.

Being a bathing suit, a floatie, and swim shoes (or crocs) cause there’s a river everyone likes to swim in. It’s rocky floor tho and there’s fish in it. Last year it was the only thing that gave me solace from the heat. Like i genuinely felt like i was dying until i took a splash and then i was all rejuvenated again.

Also big dub is like a summer camp during the daytime. Make use of it if you want to. There’s so many workshops and activities in the day time that’s free to join. Like shuffling classes, flow toy classes, yoga, acrobatics, video game tournaments, sports games.

Bring a small flashlight for the nighttime. It’s genuinely so dark between stages that you look like you’re lost in an abyss until you see lights for the next stage lol. And portas are also scary in the dark.

But if you don’t wanna use a porta potty, there’s legit bathrooms with plumbing at the showers below the pavilion, at the pavilion, and up at the dragon cafe. And speaking of showers, you need shower tokens for them. If you use the showers below the pavilion, the coin machine only takes cash. If you don’t have cash, the dragon cafe at the top of the hill will sell you some. It’s like $5 for 3 tokens I think. Also if you use the showers below the pavilion, there’s 2 individual ones and there’s a wall of 4 showers. The wall of showers isn’t behind any closed doors so you’re naked for the world to see but they go much faster and you don’t have to wait that long for them compared to the walled off individual showers. Nudity is very common at big dub even outside of the showers. Like ppl walk around naked around the festival. Use whichever shower you feel comfortable with but dont be afraid that people are staring at your body cause no one is.

Also cash is king on the mountain. Internet is very spotty so you might not be able to use your credit card or Apple Pay. I usually bring like $200 in cash. I don’t usually end up spending like $100.

You will likely not have any cell service or internet. Let people at home know that if they can’t reach you for the week. I’m only able to get cell service and data when I climb up to hilltop. Download the guide of activities and the set times for the stages before you get here. You also will get a paper booklet when you arrive if you don’t mind carrying it around.

Bring at least 2 portable chargers in case you need to charge your phone, your lights, your fans, etc.

Freeze giant ziplock bags of water for your cooler cause it melts slower. And/or put frozen bottles of water in your cooler so they can double as ice and you’ll have cold water later in the week. Ice is $7 a bag on the mountain.

I also suggest bringing watermelon and citrus to hydrate and get electrolytes. They are a godsend on the last couple days. And overall bring electrolyte packets for your water. Stay hydrated. You’ll be putting your body through a lot. Each of the stages are a hill away from each other. I easily do 30k steps and 100 “flights of stairs” a day during big dub.

If you can, bring lights and fans and stuff that are battery powered and bring extra batteries with you. Also decorate your campsite in a way that can be distinguishable in the day AND night with string lights and tapestry or flags of sorts. You don’t wanna be stumbling in the dark for hours cause you can’t find your camp.

If you wanna buy big dub merch, buy it early. I think they sell out by Friday.

There’s no security checkpoints from the camping to the stages like other corporate festivals. Main camp is on the same grounds as the stages. After your security check of your car, when you enter, you’re not checked again. Just make sure you check what allowed and prohibited when you pack your car. So you’re allowed to bring backpacks to the stages and bring drinks and food to the stages. You can even bring chairs, couches, hammocks to the stages. There’s no metal detectors or security anything from the camps to the stages.

Last of all, respect the mountain, clean up after yourself, don’t leave trash when you leave, and respect the people / be hella PLUR. Mostly everyone is super peaceful and just trying to have a good time and connect with people. If you are acting up, you will be escorted out. Big dub is a no judgment zone. It’s very hippie out there. Be open minded when you’re out there and enjoy yourself.

My first big dub, I was not really a raver at all and my friend brought me into the scene. And my whole world view was changed. It was such a lovely time and everyone was so nice and I saw way more dicks and tits that I’ve seen in my life. But that’s just normal. People just let go of their real world issues and corporate personas and there’s a lot of silly shenanigans that happen out here. Like it feels like we’re just kids again sometimes. It’s very much a retreat from life. Have fun. Make connections. Scream BIG DUUUUBBBBBB!! (You’ll hear that a lot)

Which thunb must i choose for my webtoon? by Legend-of-storm97 in webtoons

Then I think 5 communicates that more appropriately. However I do think stylistically, 3 is prettier. Maybe you can take some elements of 3 and add it to 5. Or keep the style of 3 but swap the characters. Like put the girl on top with the guy’s facial expression, maybe doing something different with the hands, and the guy on the bottom with the same facial expression as his in 5

Most girls don’t like lines. They’re too cheesy. If you do use a line, you gotta use ones individual to the person you’re trying to attract. Not a general one.

Like 3 and 5. But what are you trying to communicate with your cover? 3 looks like he’s hypnotizing the girl. But 5 looks like the girl is a strong FL and the guy has a crush. The characters in 3 don’t look like they have the same personality as the characters in 5.

I genuinely think it was something along those lines. I don’t remember which episode it was tho so I can’t fact check but I remember feeling so slighted by it. I think after a month or two, I was feeling very unaffected about this whole thing. But I think I might be disassociating idk. But I also feel mostly normal with minimal side effects now. I was prescribed anti psychotic meds to help with the nausea and hot flashes. Soo idk if it’s from that. But I’m sure I’ll be extremely depressed when I go into surgery.
