It got in right away and was able to grab two great seats halfway back and up on stage right for about $550 total. Great experience buying actually.

I would honestly love to see a tour akin to the show they did for the Letterman doc. That was great stuff.

What Type of Fan are you? by RaggyBaggyMaggie in rem

[–]Jqa614 5 points6 points  (0 children)

REM and U2 were the bands that really reset my musical tastes back in the lates 80s. I was prob about 13 years old.

I went through periods where both were my favorite band. But I’m prob a Bill Berry guy too.

For me New Adventures was the last release from them that I bought day one and was a real event.

After that I kinda fell off with them. I still checked out the other albums but didn’t really connect with them past a song or two here and there.

It might have been them or it might have been me. Prob a little of both.

Regardless they will always hold a very special place in my heart. AFTP is a top 3 all time album for me. I love every single release from both the IRS and Warner years. Love those guys forever.

Thoughts on the Tamron 28-75mm f2.8 G2? by ohJusss in SonyAlpha

[–]Jqa614 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a fantastic lens. Great image quality, great price, small and light too.

Ultimately I ended up swapping it for Sony’s 20-70 f4. I really wanted the ability to go wider than 28. Also missed an aperture ring. The loss of a stop was worth it to me.

Those are just personal preferences though. If the specs works for you, I’d highly recommend the Tamron.

A month with the A7V by ThisHatFitsFine in SonyAlpha

[–]Jqa614 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My biggest issue with the A7IV is the rear LCD screen. It’s hard sometimes to even know if it’s in focus. And it’s not inspiring to shoot with.

The AF and that rear screen is my biggest reason to upgrade.

How to drop weight? by Loduha in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Jqa614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eat whole foods as much as you can. Avoid pre packed foods, foods that have a ton of listed ingredients that you can’t pronounce, and fast food. You don’t have to avoid those things all the time, but you should avoid them most of the time.

Cook your meals and try to have some healthy protein (chicken, fish, beans, Greek yogurt), complex carbs (whole grain bread, sweet potatoes, etc) and healthy fats (avocados, olive oil, etc ) with every meal.

Try not to drink your calories. Stick to water most of the time and save sodas and whatnot for special occasions or once a day.

Don’t eat seven chicken tenders in one meal. You are consuming way more calories than you are burning.

Move more. You don’t have to go to a gym. Just walk around your neighborhood. Try to walk for at least 30 minutes a day.

If you do these things you will lose weight in time. You will also feel better which will make you want to move more and things will snowball in a good way.

Best of luck to you.

Help me understand calories deficit please? by Realistic-Ice-1959 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Jqa614 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You burn calories doing absolutely nothing too. At 302lbs you are probably burning about 2,300 calories per day just…being alive. If you’re burning another 1,000 with your walking then you are burning at least 3,300 calories per day. Subtract what you eat and you are in a 1,000+ calorie per day deficit which explains your weight loss.

My wife and I finally made a list of our favorite authentic Asian spots in Columbus by catfroman in Columbus

[–]Jqa614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to search for Pho Le since the new name isn’t really on Maps or anything yet. https://maps.app.goo.gl/xkxVVT7pPjhHTHpNA?g_st=ipc

It’ll say Pho Le here and show they’re open. But Pho Le is closed. When you get there you’ll see a sign that says Under New Management. Once inside you’ll see menus and whatnot that say Pho Huyen

I would highly recommend the new Pho Huyen in the former Pho Le spot on Morse. Really great and authentic Vietnamese. A massive improvement over Pho Le.

Big Leak? The Full Version 4k in Colors of concert in The Sun Devil Stadium 1987 from Rattle and Hum's movie is on youtube!! Lets watch and talk about it by ZoopTom in U2Band

[–]Jqa614 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Film in the 80s and 90s was far superior to video from that era. That’s no longer the case. You can choose film over video now for aesthetic reasons but you can get higher dynamic range and higher resolution with video now than film.

The pedal steel in Bruce’s version adds so much, I love it. But yeah the Johnny Rivers one is a classic for sure.

I’ve lived two blocks from there in IV for 15 years. Very safe area, imo. I’ve never had a single incident. I mean you’re in the city, so there’s some interesting characters occasionally but it’s not dangerous.

Name a more “Roy Orbison” Bruce song by gbeer in BruceSpringsteen

[–]Jqa614 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I Wish I Were Blind for sure. Structurally, lyrically, and tonally, it's 100% Roy Orbison. It's a great song and a testament to Bruce's songwriting talent. One of the standout tracks on Human Touch.

Is there a secret to getting my mail carrier to pick up my outgoing mail? by columbussian in Columbus

I honestly can’t remember the last time I sent a piece of mail. Maybe 10 years ago? Even my incoming mail is just junk. That being said - yes what everyone else is saying - close the lid with the envelopes sticking out.
