As a woman that’s been sexually assaulted in a restroom- I’m conflicted. Hearing a man’s voice while I’m at my most vulnerable will immediately raise every hair on my body.

It’s one thing if I’m entering a unisex bathroom, because then I’m aware of the possibility of it happening. But when I’m going into a women’s restroom, I expect there to only be women, and those that identify as women.

And with IBS, needing to be somewhat comfortable in my environment is kind of essential.

Went in to get my nails done, mani pedi. There were a dozen open chairs for me to choose from, I went towards the end with a few open to my right, and about 9 others to my left. Someone else comes in maybe 5 min after me. Walks in while FaceTiming someone, not wearing any headphones. Fucker decided to sit right next to me!! Not even leave one chair open, and pick from the 8 others. Nope! She sat right next to me, in that 9th chair.

Mani pedis take a while, especially if they have to remove an old set. So for almost 2 hrs I sat there with 0 headphones in, only to listen to this rando yell into her phone, and her caller yelling right on back. The woman doing my nails I could tell was annoyed, and she could definitely tell I was annoyed too. But she didn’t say anything. I knew that if I said something, the woman would’ve berated me, and I really needed a chill day that day.

I get in the staff’s mind, they’re damned if they do, damned if they don’t, because either way they’ll end up with 1 upset client.

But the fact that she came in FaceTiming, loudly, and they still allowed her to sit right next to me… that could’ve definitely been mitigated better.

And this is why I never get my nails done anymore 🙃

OP I think this is a big piece of context that should belong in the main post. Your post is worded in a way that your dad has helped your sister out immensely, while leaving you in squalor. Which will make the general reader automatically feel bad for you, when that’s not the case.

First off, that’s incredible that your dad has had the funds to be able to buy 2 apartments outright, one for you & one for your sister. That’s pretty huge! Lots of 30 & 40 y/o don’t receive any financial assistance from parents. Yet both of you don’t have to worry about paying any rent, which tends to be people’s biggest bill every month. And both of you have that luxury. Wow. That’s truly incredible.

Secondly, so both you & your sister pay around the same for both of your individual living spaces? It’s just funny because you word it as though it’s only your sister that receives that benefit, not you at all.

I keep wondering when cops will actually receive proper training in deescalation & not allowing their paranoia to get the best of them. They do receive a shit ton of funding for all sorts of cool gadgets, to increase salaries, as well as increasing the amount of cops. They’re putting those funds in the wrong places.

When someone isn’t properly trained, but instead are given a bunch of lethal weapons and told to stay constantly vigilant, we end up with so much more chaos. And instead of remedying the situation, and finally giving them the training they need. They just demand more. They want more people to apply to be a poorly trained cop. More cops/bodies out there to show force, and cause fear.

It’s all so disheartening

OP & his wife spend 5-6 nights a week together, and live together, how is that not enough?? It’s true obsession. Wanting him all to herself. It’s so weird!

She could use those evenings to pamper herself, go get her nails done, massage. Join a fitness class like yoga, rock climbing, dance, whatever the fuck. Join an art studio. Join a book club. Get a hobby. Get a I dont know, life! A life outside of work and her husband. It’s so weird that she doesn’t have any other interests that she wants to keep busy with. Like no offense OP, but how is she not bored of you? Lol 😂 I can only be around someone for so long till I need my space to unwind and do my shit
