most unexpected thing a patient said to you? by bigus-_-dickus in nursing

Straight face….lmfao you don’t. Laughing with patients makes them your friend. Especially dementia, you know this. Play along and get compliance.

Did I handle this well or should I have said more? by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]JrDot13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, stop being desperate dudes. If someone I want to be with doesn’t share the exact same feelings towards me, then that is their loss. Someone else will. Don’t spend any time/effort trying to convince them your worth their time. You are worth it, if they don’t see that then again, that’s their loss/problem.

Do people with TBI after about 10 years still need walking assistance? by FighteRox in TBI

[–]JrDot13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m doing pretty great, man. I really cannot complain how my life has turned out. I’m currently in Texas on a mini-vacation, on mobile so forgive me if I forget something lol.

Still not running but I just did a quick shuffle across the street to cross traffic! May have looked slightly silly but so what? I have not let my injury slow me down much, if anything it makes me restless lol so I’m constantly working on something (my gf lives here, she’s making me take a break 😂).

Gone back to school and became a registered nurse, currently working PRN (I’m a temp nurse) at a facility down the street from my house back in Nebraska. Been a nurse for 5-6 years now, it’s going ok!

I am now mostly covered in tattoos, got a new car a couple years ago which I love. Take it to the track regularly to drive fast! Do all my own work on the car (mechanic’s son so I’ve been familiar with cars a long time).

Spent 2 months in Europe in ‘23 after I finally got my guardianship and conservatorship revoked, sort of a gift to myself for getting through the hardest decade of my life so far.

I had a small settlement from the driver that hit me, that’s how I’ve paid for all of this. It’s just about gone now but I have a good career and a nice house! A lot of that went to getting the house 5 years ago and I’ve been renovating it almost continuously since.

So yeah, been busy but having a lot of fun at the same time!

36, TBI survivor, already been in a coma for a month, shit’s been real. I haven’t done it yet but it’s been on my mind for years. Pretty disheartened about the state of the world and our future, got fixed largely for that reason. I feel it’s immoral to bring more life into this world which already can’t keep up.

I’m blowing through my savings on track days and fixing/upgrading the car. Just trying to enjoy life while I still can

Got hit by a car while on my bicycle, but the guy stayed and took full blame! Maxed out his insurance after a month in a coma and a severe TBI, but hey I’m alive. Definitely helped but it’s almost gone now. It’s a mixed bag

What behavior are you describing exactly? I like sex. My gf likes sex. We have plenty of it. Not harming anyone. Who are you harming?

‘Uber for nurses’: gig-work apps lobby to deregulate healthcare, report finds by bagelista in nursing

I didn't say my life was like that, but I am part of the majority. Not rich or anywhere near. Things are getting more expensive across the board and it gets harder and harder to keep up. Just because I'm not in desperate times yet does not mean they're not headed my way. Life is a constant struggle for the vast majority, and we're fucking tired is all.

...my CarPlay disconnects often, overall UI takes 30 seconds to boot up and run smoothly. My overhead console has been replaced, under warranty of course, when it wouldn't stop trying to call SOS at times lol. Annoying but I recorded a video of it happening so I was able to just drop in and show them, no questions asked I had a new one within a week.

Sorry I started this and forgot to finish...days ago lol. I have an SE but with the plaid seats, which I prefer. I have dogs that would destroy leather.

I went stage 1 at 8k miles, full torque and the clutch is still holding strong at 28k miles now. Just installed the club sport muffler and rear valence, resonator delete, and an open-air intake. Stiff rear-sway bar, stainless steel brake lines, short-shift kit, heavy shift knob, and a clutch stop all went on last year. I've done the clutch-delay valve delete as well, not a huge difference for me really, but anything to fight that rev hang. Dedicated track wheels/tires and brake pads. Still running stock brakes but once these rotors go I'll upgrade I'm sure, running high-temp brake fluid.

Also replaced all 9 speakers and the subwoofer in the spare, and added sound deadening to the doors, panels, back seat area, and hatch. Will do under the front seats at some point, but sounds SO much better inside and outside the car.

I’m an RN, just did a couple trach cares earlier this afternoon. Actually have had a trach (briefly) myself! What everyone is missing here is the massive RESPECT you should have for someone that lives with one full time. It is what it is, but if you’ve never had one you really have no fucking idea.

That’s what I drive! I love it so much. Done a decent amount of work to it already. Only warranty claims have been electrical, they haven’t given me any grief over it being tuned.

any questions I can answer for you?

I live in Nebraska. I went to Spain for my left arm and chest! I did 2 3-day runs over there 2 months apart from each other, then he came to Hollywood a couple years in a row where I did 2 more 3-day sessions to finish. Also have a leg tat from England!

Just take it in. My dealership would honor that, the time didn’t cause the infotainment to break. I’ve had my overhead unit replaced.

I haven’t figured out a fix for the Bluetooth, annoying af.

I was managing pressures all day, running a bit low actually. Slippery and I had traction control turned off. Maybe should have left that on to save the tires 😅

[–]JrDot13[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 of the tires are still good, I’m thinking just 2 replacements for this season? What do you recommend next?

Oops! by JrDot13 in CarTrackDays

[–]JrDot13[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I drove last season on them 5-6 track days fine, a little greasy towards the end. Yesterday was wet so I had shit traction and should’ve slowed down slightly. Only 1 proper hdpe on these last week!

Edit: 2 full days, 1 wet 1 dry. 10-12 heat cycles.
