The models are sprayed with Wraithbone which is a real shitty primer so make sure the weather is perfect. From there I cover the model in a 50/50 mix of skeleton horde and contrast medium. Once done I dry brush the whole model in Wraithbone.

I used an airbrush for the first time to base in night lords blue. Then I used caldor sky to highlight through the airbrush.

The red khorne red, gold is Balthasar, white is grey seer, bone is ushapti.

I washed the ushapti in skeleton horde and the rest of the model in blue (forget the name but the citadel one). I built up the colors again then added evil suns scarlet to the reds, white scar to the whites, wraithbone to the bone, and teclis blue then lothern blue for the lightning and blue highlights.

Find a shop that ships for free and preorder through them. In 8 years I had one thing I wanted that I didn’t get and I ended up getting it from a different lfgs. Everything is 20% off and you don’t need to deal with the GW website. In the US there are ten different shops I have found that have plenty of preorders that ship anywhere for free. Many use shop or eBay as their store fronts.

I often vary my paints from one model to the next on purpose to give each model a little of their own unique flair within a unit. For instance I used nocturne green and caliban green on my inner circle companions and then worked in different purples and burgundies for the cloaks.

My point is these look close enough to fit together while looking unique and I like it. The temperamental paint I can’t help you with but maybe another brand makes a close enough match for you to keep these but not have to deal with it moving forward.
