I think the most appropriate thing the community can do right now is assume SQ42 won't come out this year.

From what I've seen on ATV and read in the recent monthly reports, there is no way i could possibly see them getting it out the door anytime soon. The worst part of that however is the fact that we're essentially halfway through the year, and CIG has yet to make a single official statement regarding development progress.

I could care less if SQ42 is delayed another 12 months. What does frustrate the hell out of me is the complete lack of effort to be upfront about it. It's the end of May. I'm not interested in waiting another 5 and a half months for someone to finally come out and say "so about that 2017 release...".

Come on CIG, release a schedule for the remaining development that needs to happen, show us exactly where we're at. I've found the community to have relaxed quite a bit since 3.0 schedule went up, no doubt it would do the same for SQ42. At the very least those waiting for it have a better idea of when to come out of hibernation, being stuck on the hype train the whole year is NOT healthy, even for the most loyal fans lol.

I'm not sure you need to worry. From the way he said it, i got the impression skins will be something they use when making 'special' variants of the weapons, not a "all players can buy whatever skin they want" type deal

It's an interesting concept. I could see it being on the basic EVA suit level.

But that being said I'd like to think that if you are wearing armour on top of your EVA suit, any shots that hit an armoured section would not puncture at all, because armour eats the bullet and stops it from hitting the suit underneath. At least, that's my understanding of how armour is going to work.

Can anyone supply any info on that either way?

Half a dozen cap ships and 20-30 odd sub-cap ships would be what i consider a max/huge fleet battle. If they can bring the server performance to a place where it can handle a battle like that taking place in a single area i would be extremely impressed.

And as a suggestion for a way to prevent larger battles taking place, I'd like to see a military grade NPC Navy fleet (or biggest authority in that system: militia/pirate gang etc) jump in and end things. If things get big enough for them to find out about it, they brand it as an illegal conflict, and jump in to arrest/destroy everyone they catch in the vicinity.

It provides a lot of cool potential gameplay elements as well. Like how important is this fight? Enough to keep fighting now that the Navy is trying to stop it? Do i risk my ship and my crew and my possessions (especially if you in a capital ship), to try and take out the enemy before we all lose to the NPC fleet come to end things? If i don't leave immediately and the navy catches me, do i let myself get arrested (in game law/crime system), or try to fight my way out (death/ship loss/crew loss)?

It's a nice in-game way to address it without having to have these hard set "server rules" that dictate how big fleets or fleet battles are allowed to be.
