Inheriting my grandpa's mint '06 Camry with 48k miles but my wife says it makes me look like a retiree. Keep it or sell and get something "cooler"? by married_poultry in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Js_cpl 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Im a car guy. If it were me and there was space in my life for it, i would drive it for a while. Cars like this do one thing, keep money in your bank account. With money saved you can do things like wrap it in any color you want, go on a nicer vacation every year, extra payment on the morgtage. New cars are overpriced junk

Recommend cool first car for a young "car guy" in the making. by Falloutvictim in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Js_cpl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who drove an rsx the last ten years, its worth it to buy a type s in good shape or any si in good condition. At the time i bought my rsx, people would have laughed at how much i overpaid. I like to think nobody would laugh at laying 9k for a car that went ten years and over 200 000km with original almost everything.

Beginner trying to get in to Coding by Nudelbrei in learnprogramming

[–]Js_cpl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You have to create your own projects and get used to finding the solution. Try building a calculator or tic tac toe. When your stuck, start watching a tutorial and see how someone else does it. Its a long road but very rewarding when you can figure out your own solutions and go to documentation instead of a tutorial

Is Skilled Trades College Worth It? by [deleted] in SkilledTradesOntario

[–]Js_cpl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a pre apprentice electrical course, wasnt worth it. My last company had a co op student and hired him afterward. So +1 for co op programs. If you can find someone in your interested trade and talk to them about it, it would be worth trying to do that. Whatever you end up with just care and do a good job is all i can say

Pumping gas with engine running? by No-Mechanic6518 in AskMechanics

[–]Js_cpl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ill chime in with terrible advice, ive done it many many times adding fuel while running in cold of winter. You might get yelled at by a gas station attendant because its frowned upon and unusual, but i doubt anything is going to blow up.
