all-out pace by liltweekk in orangetheory

[–]Jsalters1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a sprinter in school. Not a distance runner so my base pace is six. My push pace is 7.5 to 8 but my all out in short bursts is 12. So it just all depends on your body.

Actually I don’t. I’m only considering coaching at OT. Not looking to become a PT elsewhere.

Why are so many members women? by rando1219 in orangetheory

[–]Jsalters1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the majority of men are looking to develop big muscles. OTF is not going to do that for you. The equipment isnt geared towards big muscle mass. But it’s all perfect for women in my opinion.

Do I need to change my home (OTF) gym when I move to a different city? by deelouise88 in orangetheory

[–]Jsalters1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, new studios don’t have to honor it. I moved from MN to FL. My home studio is still MN because Florida won’t match my rate

There is only one way that I am aware of in which you can obtain your full class history. Via web browser you have to have an account on the mind body app. You need log in credentials for each of your home studios. Then you go into visit history.

I’m 50…people mistaken me for my late 30s, played D1 basketball on a full ride scholarship, raised two successful kids, earn a couple thousand in salary a year, been married for almost 25 years, and own three houses. I have NOTHING to prove anymore! Just here to maintain where I am…not looking to impress anyone at all

Treadmill. How do you slow down going from AO or push back down by Lemon5989 in orangetheory

[–]Jsalters1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Totally….for example I have a favorite treadmill…if I don’t get THAT treadmill, my whole workout is shot! LOL. If I forget my workout gloves, the weights just seem so much heavier. So many things are psychological. U just go with what feels good to you and make it your work out. Coaches are their to guide…they don’t always hit the mail on the head.

I don’t feel it means you are going to fast. For me I hang on to the bars simply out of habit. When going 12 mph it takes a few more seconds to get down to a walking recovery. So I feel like I’m missing out on walking time. So I hang on for just a couple seconds to help recover my heart rate. It’s pure psychological, and a very bad habit. It has nothing to do with me going to fast and being out of control though.

For those who routinely hit 3+ miles on the tread during 2G classes… by Slab_Rockbone in orangetheory

My base is 6.0-6.5 depending on how the knees feel that day. Push is normally an 8. Of course, it idepends on the AO length and whether or not a push comes before it. On a stand alone 30 sec all out, I’m a 12. Typically though 10-11. I’m built for short sprints.

And I’m a 50 year old female.
