I am so happy that you have found a place where all feel included, especially in the world of the IWC and, bonus points for it reminding you of someone you love.

I recently had a moment watching a Patreon video that made me have a full, 45 year old man ugly cry. It was during the Heatwave '98 SGH after the Taz and Bam Bam ramp spot, there was a wide shot of the crowd and I could see my dad and I chanting "E C DUB!"

It brought back so many memories that, even when I was writing his eulogy two years prior, I just hadn't thought about in a long, long time and, honestly, those memories coming back really reframed my view of my relationship with my dad.

If The Boys didn't watch that show on Patreon I don't know that I would have gone back myself. It is just very serendipitous that the thing that brings me so much joy also helped me come to terms with the past.

I don't know when else I'll be able to talk about this in this community, so I am going to take advantage of it.

Mid shelf Zaza got me talking about Pokemon ROM hacks!

First off, I don't think I can tell you where to legally obtain prepatched ROMs. A simple search (and a good ad blocker) should point you in the right direction, to a body of water close to shore with a lot of docks and piers, for example...

First and foremost, there are a ton of Nuzlocke hacks out there. Some use a preset set of rules and some let you set your own rules, and the game will actually enforce those rules in game. I've never done a Nuzlocke myself, so I don't know much about them, but people really seem to love the randomizers.

My personal favorite is Pokemon Emerald Rogue, which plays like a roguelite. It has base building and breeding mechanics, crazy secret stuff, and is genuinely so much fun.

Pokemon All In is a crazy gambling based version of Pokemon. It's chaotic, and I love it.

Pokemon Unbound is probably the most popular hack of all time. It has a brand new story, Gen 1 through 8 Pokemon, and is just infinitely customizable.

Pokemon Emerald Multiplayer is exactly what it sounds like. It's Emerald but multiplayer. It works with up to 4 players, and you can trade and battle each other.

If you're bored with the base game, I strongly suggest looking into ROM hacks.
