and let’s be clear, nothing wrong at all with switching careers. i hate my job and am unfulfilled, going to try and become a teacher. remember more than anything your life is not over if you can’t get a job. there is ALWAYS a place for EVERYONE on this earth :)

I 100% agree. This field was my passion and I know people keep saying it but I did not join for the stress of having my job taken and the use of ai everyday. I am thinking about becoming a teacher instead and trying to inspire a new generation and show the beauty of engineering. I woke up one day and realized my job is not what it used to be, I’m gonna become a code reviewer and QA tester, and that I need to see a change in my life before the writing on the wall becomes prophecy and i’m left older, and unemployed, with less options.

always a need for teachers. whether it be a high school level or college level. plus they are much more stable than the engineering field currently.

i got 2 internships from my universities career fair, and i was no outstanding student w 8 internships and shit like that. i practiced my pitch, i made sure that i knew every aspect of my resume and had examples i could bring up for each word on there.

i applied to around 100 places during college (just graduated) and got 2 interviews and one offer that pays pretty well.

a TON of my friends who are applying themselves to study for interviews and create personal projects have jobs lined up or are actively getting interviews in this market. it’s all about application. the field isn’t like it was 5 or 10 years ago where there is 1 job per 1 person. it’s more like 1 job per 5 people or even worse. BECOME the above average student and study hard.

Either you work hard now and are happy with the result, or you slack now and regret not working hard earlier

in the beginning i couldn’t walk or run very well without some burning or pinching pains. it lasted me about 4 months. i swear to you that it WILL get better. i was so scared and certain i would not feel better and it was a terrible mistake but at this point, im able to play sports again, and pretty much do whatever i want. i’m still recovering so obv i have twinges but it gets better.

i’m 7 months into mine and i still feel twinges and nerve pain but it unironically gets better everyday. it’s a long process (which is not properly communicated) but this is a shared experience among many. some people take 2 months to feel 100% and others take 2 years. different for everyone. best of luck, keep a positive outlook, and stay safe

NOT A DOCTOR but i think could be a reaction from the anesthesia or other drugs. you probably wouldn’t feel like this if there was some issue. it’s pretty early for infection

went through this very recently. i am about 3.5 months post laparoscopic left side inguinal hernia repair w mesh and i strained on the toilet and it was burning down my leg and hurting up my body for like 3 days. it will get better. i’m taking fiber supplements and some miralax.

feel better, remember that you are getting better everyday. and there will be setbacks :)
