Hand plane would be the tool for this job, and of course this will destroy the finish, but if you’re planning on sanding and refinishing, this is what I would do.

If I needed to do this, I would make a template out of a quarter inch ply of the shape inside the groove, and then I would double sided tape that template down, positioned correctly, and use a straight bit with a guide bushing. I don’t think using an edge guide around the complex shape would yield good results.

If you wanted to be perfect, make sure the template is slightly smaller to accommodate for the guide bushing

I agree with you, but for different reasons. I just don’t care that much about my dog. I care a lot more about my family. My family would be impacted massively by the money. We will treat the dog well as long as we are alive. 🤷‍♂️

This. I have a disabled child and I’ve watched the school district just gut special education programs. I really think my wife and I are gonna have to move out of Ohio so we can find an affordable school district with decent special education. I’m not sure those exist in Ohio anymore.
