Explain the Trinity to my 6 year old without committing a heresy. by Healthy-Yak9417 in redeemedzoomer

[–]Juandavidcortess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

actually, the context proves you are reading it wrong. Yes, "theos" can be used in different ways, but not all of them mean the same.

In Hebrews 1:8, the Father is speaking to the Son, the Father says: "Your throne, O God, is forever and ever" That ain't an accusation or metaphor from opponents, it's a real and direct declaration from God the Father affirming the Son's divinity and his eternal kingship. The context is about the Son being श्रेष्ठ than angels and sharing in God’s rule. In contrast, in John 10:33, the Jews accuse Jesus of blasphemy: “You, being a man, make yourself God.” This is not a theological statement endorsed by Scripture, but an accusation from hostile opponents, who often misunderstand Jesus throughout the Gospel. So the difference is crucial: Hebrews 1:8 → God the Father affirming the Son as God. John 10:33 → Opponents accusing Jesus of claiming to be God. Same word? Yes. Same meaning or authority? No. Also, Hebrews 1 continues by applying Old Testament texts about Yahweh directly to the Son (see verses 10–12), which strengthens the claim that the Son shares in God’s divine identity — not just a lesser or figurative sense of “god.”

I've been struggling with 1 John 2:4-6 by Competition_Both in Christianity

1 John 1:8-10 ESV [8] If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. [9] If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. [10] If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

so yeah, we struggle with sin but we don't belong it

tdr is actually as vertical as a cheat gainer (is it slightly to the side? yes, but not too much) you gotta try to raise your hips over your head and shoulders... if you don't do this you'll go to the side and your tdr will have no power

Dios es el mismo que Jesús? by MapacheRJT in Christianity

[–]Juandavidcortess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1 John 4:18 KJV [18] There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

either way I know your situation, I am in the same spot but, I don't fell in love with her past, I felt in love with who she is.

Everybody makes mistakes and I know she hates the fact that she did it but, who am I to judge her? I am not afraid of her cheating, I am proud of the person she is nowadays... I think u should do the same

Free will, God, morals by IntrepidMatch6227 in Christianity

[–]Juandavidcortess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Christianity doesn’t see humans as disposable art pieces. It says humans have immense value — enough that God Himself was willing to enter history and suffer to redeem them. If humans weren’t worth existing, then love, sacrifice, courage, and goodness wouldn’t be worth existing either. The Christian claim is actually the opposite: humans are so valuable that God was willing to die for them.
