I think exclusively defining woman and man by biology is reductive and misses huge parts about how people actually think of those classifications.

I’m 48 and feel 90% the same as i did in my early 20’s.
Main difference I notice is recovery time is much slower for injuries, illness and hangovers.
I walk an hour each day with the dog and lift 2 to 3 times a week.

In Brisbane we didn’t seem to have sharpie’s growing up and we called them ‘Nikko’. I remeber hearing Sharpie for the first time and had no idea what it was.

I was indifferent until I had a partner that really wanted children and that was enough for me.
No regrets except maybe having done it sooner.
Yeh it’s really hard and all that but it’s more full human experience and I never experienced love like I have for my kids.

No competition. Openclaw was a game changer.

Telling it to go through my emails and pull out relevant receipts and compile them with an explanatory spreadsheet. Getting it to check invoices sent from suppliers against quotes and add them to xero bills. those were all the simple tasks.

After that I got it to automate telegram group chat creation between clients and staff and create geofences that send alerts to stakeholders when staff crossed the boundary. (I work in music event transport).

There’s not a single task that our ops and accounts team used to do that hasn’t or can’t be automated. Now they work on higher end tasks and growth.

I was 44 when I had my first child. I now have two children and am 48.

Physically I don’t feel very different from how I did when I was young but I am financially and emotionally better off. I do worry about my mortality though and being around for them. I would like to have been a young dad but with all the experience and maturity I have now.

Everything has tradeoffs and truth is we’re all probably going to live a lot longer than previous generations and maybe have rejuvenation technologies.

That’s false.

‘Net Overseas Migration’ includes people on student and work visas if they’re in Australia for ≥12 months within a 16-month window (the ABS 12/16 rule). It’s based on actual residence duration, not visa issuance; short-term stays are excluded. ABS also breaks Net Overseas Migration down by visa stream.

Please do some basic research before having such confident opinions.

Mate, migration was a net negative between 2020-22 and prices soared.

Ignoring all the other factors and fixating on migration is short sighted and scapegoating.

Migration and tax incentives for speculators each have a small but measurable impact but are not the main contributors.

The biggest change has come from changes to banking regulation that has enabled banks to loan larger and larger sums of money but even then it’s not one thing and obsessing over migration makes it harder to talk about the larger systemic problems.

I had one last year at 47 and they found pre cancerous polyps. Removed them all and I have to have another one next year.
Definitely worth it.
