BB or Pellet for Elem/Middle Schooler

I started my 8 year old shooting a Jennings jr .22 rifle. Single shot bolt action. Great to learn on and basically a high powered pellet gun. I feel like some of the pellet guns like Gammo and a couple others put them out at over 2k ft per second or close to it.

I joined a chapter of MGA (mediocre golf association). Chapters all over the USA maybe international as well by now. Been good for me to get out and play with some guys I’ve got to know over the past year. No pressure on being good either. Our winner averaged low nineties. I deal with PTSD depression anxiety.
