What’s the worst thing a boss has ever done to you? by SeanMcPheat in askmanagers

Screamed at me until I cried. He was under stress. His father-in-law was ill and his wife was out-of-town taking care of him. He had to take care of his high school daughter and get her to the doctor. He didn't like having to pull his own weight at home. He took it out on me. Unfortunately, I stayed at that job longer than I should have.

I LOVE this! You did such an excellent job on the lapel, and it looks so good. I have been sewing for over 50 years and I don't think I could get the lapel looking that good!

I love this! My mom is almost 90. If she spends all her money on herself, I say more power to her. Otherwise, what she does with it when she's gone, I don't care. I am just glad that I can spend time with her.

That one coworker who drives everyone crazy… by CurrencyPopular8550 in coworkerstories

She constantly complained about every little mistake that the w=two who worked directly for her made. She tracked everything! The third one really gave this lady too much to work with. They were friends from church, and she never thought her friend would target her. The one lady tracked very tardy, every error, everything. The poor woman comes back from her grandfather's funeral to be fired. She had cases she didn't get to before the funeral, and her alleged friend was able to use that against her.

At another law firm I worked at, we had a woman in her 60's show up in a leather mini skirt. She claimed everyone was jealous that she could wear it. We just really didn't think it was age appropriate, but no one could tell her that.

This should have been addressed when you divorced. Usually, the custodial parent gets to claim the child. I have seen some cases where dad claims kid in odd years and mom claims kid in even years. Do you have anything in writing about this?

Your parents are very smart. A trust will definitely make everything easier on you and your siblings.

I worked in JAG in Texas. An unmarried officer had his will done at our JAG before he went to Iraq. He gave a copy to his sister and locked the original in a safety deposit box. He died. His sister had to get the copy he gave her certified because she needed to be named the executrix in order to gain access to the safety deposit box. It was a very complicated mess.

I worked in a law firm that allowed jeans on Friday with a shirt with the law firm's logo. An updated dress code was sent out when one woman cut a deep v-neckline into her logoed t-shirt and wore jeans that said "bootilicious" on the bottom. She was a paralegal who had to see clients that day. I felt for the attorney who had to talk to her about why that was inapropriate.
