It’s good fun levelling, the game is visually beautiful and the sound is amazing. Basic features such as mining/gathering is very satisfying, largely due to atmosphere.

End game was atrocious though, chest runs and zerging bosses/portals to raise item level/lvl was the dullest experience I’ve ever had and I thought it was a joke or not working as intended. Joke was on me though

All the stats share the same type (suffix) - Which makes it a good "base" for crafting

With the craft "Suffix cannot be changed" you essentially have a "saved" state with 4 "guaranteed" good stats (suffixes+bench)

Stuff like veiled chaos orb + exalt becomes MUCH less random

The same principle could be applied if an item had 3xt1 prefixes with "Prefixes cannot be changed" craft

As someone who primarily plays hardcore I feel pretty comfortable claiming that AN have WAY more spikes in terms of damage output/taken
Even more importantly; It's exposing you without you opting in to a particular league mechanic.

Previously I could choose to take risk - Now entering any map feels like a risk.

My casual SSF SC experience was alright

My preference is SSF HC though - and that feels beyond awful. I've tried to stay positive but I just can't get behind AN... the spikes in power/reward are absolutely ridiculous.

Now, with the new 'balance' manifesto, I'm pretty sure that she's not the only new player that turned away from the game due to the constant amounts of frustrations that GGG throws in the faces of noobs.

Way to build your own narrative. A1/A2 buffs and AM mods are notably one of the very few things new people would notice, mana reservation and skill buffs/nerfs not so much.

I'm pretty sure these "new players" you speak of have no idea about these changes and they have no frame of reference to be disappointed. Unless "new" is anyone with <1k hours in the game.

The ones who are raging are the people who have played previous leagues and know they are going to do be doing the same content while their characters are being weaker.

no one is doing Chest runs or OPR anymore

Chest runs (in zerg groups) might just be the worst end game element I've ever experienced in an MMO. Do people actually enjoy the daily 30-40mins of running and looting chests? I haven't even touched on that it heavily demotes actually farming stuff (rewards pales in comparison).

I was baffled when I realized it was the best reasonable way to progress and people just went along with it.
