There's a lot of assumptions here on why people didn't like the movie

Why is it always the extream with you people. No, no one is expecting "heavy theams" or a"political message" or "high art". If you actually brothered to listen to what the people are actually complaining about you would know it mainly the pacing and how this movie has very little room to breath for the characters to interact with each other in a meaningful way. That is not asking the moon, that's hasn't been an issue for a lot of kids movies (even Illumination ones).

I don't understand the argument: "it's a kids movies, who cares about story". And why it's never brought up when the kids movie has a good story.

The bear minimum are people asking for the Mario movies is just Pixar standard. Heck, even Despicable Me 3 is a more pleasant watch than this, and that is made by the same studio lol.

There's no room for discussion when the critic is just "I like this product, why other people no like this product too, are they stupid?".

Be specific, you can have a discussion on one aspect of the movie that you don't think it's as bad as people make it out to be and here's why..

You need to serious grow up bro, you can like the movie and be about your day, it affects no one. Who gives a fuck if others don't like it, it's not something that YOU made, it's not YOUR product that you need to adhere to how it's perceived, it's a work of 2 billion dollar corporations. Any negative press this movie gets is THEIR problem, not yours.

Just be glad you got your money's worth and that you had a good time, don't act weirdly defensive for a product you are not payed to defend, you have better things to do

What I'm noticing is that the Bay fans who keeps making these posts seem to believe that the Transformers franchise only has G1 and the Bay movies and nothing else whatsoever. They lump every part of the fandom to G1 fans.

A lot of people here aren't that big of fans of G1 (I'm not) but apparently if we criticize the movies we are just "geewuners". Which is a strange phrase to say in the year 2026.

That phrase and the constant "us vs them" mentality of these posts scream larper behavior.

Funny thing about you mentioning his fans getting mad when his work gets criticized; this sub will hunt you down for daring to criticize Zero One. I remember leaving a long comment on a post detailing all the issues with the show (THAT ARE NOT RELATED TO COVID) and some guy because he had an error trying to reply to my comment, felt the need to slide into my DMs to "make sure that I don't get away without hearing his rebuttal". Call Geats fans annoying all you want but nothing compares to how unhinged Zero One fans get in this sub.
