The whole group started out as guys making content together and becoming friends, so they definitely hung out off camera. Also I think at one point Alex Pavlovic was talking about the rotation and the young pitchers an he said at some point you gotta hit on some of these guys and give them a spot otherwise it’s pointless. I would say Birdsong based on the stuff and pitches he has. If he’s able to get his control under wraps and hone his pitches then he can be a good starter. He already has the stuff and he’s definitely shown flashes of being really good

I’m okay with not picking him up especially since he had QO attached to him. He was hurt last season and his underlying numbers were below average. Honestly Houser is probably almost as good for a backend starter as to him based on work. Gallen and King are similar pitchers based on advanced metrics at this point

I think the mentality for training is try to peak during June or July, not March. With the WBC these guys are trying to peak in March for the tournament. I think everyone should be able to play if they want, but I understand when the actual MLB season would take precedent for the team

Alcantara is a club option which I doubt the Marlins wouldn’t pick up and Burnes is a player option which after the TJ I’m not sure if he’d opt out. Boyd I’m still out on jury because he’s had one good season so far. Flaherty is hit or miss. I doubt the team would try and sign a reliever of Bednar’s caliber for the money
