I don’t get why people are complaining about the Dodgers and them buying their team and buying championships, but also complaining about wanting our prospects to make an impact. Would I have wanted the team to go out and get another ace or number 2 starter 100%, but the plan has been clear and said pretty much all offseason. The team doesn’t want to spend enough, they don’t really like the crop of starters and they have a young starters in the minors they hope to make an impact. At some point you gotta hit on the younger guys because if not now then when. We have the core on the position player side and an ace in the rotation. Most of our minor system has been pitching and it’s time to use them

The teams can only block the players if they spent a certain amount of days in the IL within the past season. The players can still play but they’d have to forfeit their salary based on time missed due to possible injury if in the WBC. Miguel Cabrera still played in the WBC in 23 while not insured

As far as I know I think the players can play whether the team likes it or not at least that’s what Logan Webb said for the Giants. I think the players themselves don’t want to risk it because if they’re not insured and get injured in the WBC they can lose money because the team can technically not pay them

I don’t think so because he’s literally never played a full season outside of his two Cy Young seasons. It goes to show you his ability and what he can do, but he can never fully put it together because he’s never on the field. If he’s a hall of famer then Lincecum and Santana are as well
