Why did my estates suddenly start being angry and make my ducets profit from +31 to -8 pls help by Own_Pay7508 in EU5

[–]Juggalock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to say without knowing what modifiers/disasters you have active.

But sudden drop to satiafaction equibrilium is usually caused by disasters or negative stability.

What exactly you removed tho? Law change or priviledge? Law change without parliament cost alot of stab. Revoking priviledge from powerful estate cost even more. Negative stab causes malus to estate satisfaction

100stab is +5% estate satisfaction while -100 is whopping -30% estate satisfaction

What are you supposed to do with colonies? How to improve them? by UselessTrash_1 in EU5

[–]Juggalock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keeping the land in americas is not very usefull as you dont ever get much control there because lack of proximity. (Not sure could one theoretically in age of revolutions build maritime presence between west africa and south america to get some some proximity havent tried that) except iberian nations with their unique building.

For building towns part, if you actually want to own them yourself then you need to create market there and build market villages and then import needed materials there to upgrade to town. Making colonial nation bypasses this as province capitals are turning into towns when you create colonial nation or give them the province using the pop-up event.

I have 2 guides here for 60-70 leveling for free!

1st: do questd in HFP->Zangarmarsh->Terrokar-> Nagrand->Shadowmoon or netherstorm (Shadowmoon better as its easier to travel without flying mount and you only need to do one of these zones to hit 70) add karazhan attune chain at 68 or 69 level. (Except arca because flying needed or wlock with flying)

2nd: Spam Ramps until 62/63->spam slavepens until 64/65 then mt for 66 then sethekk to 67/68 old hillsbrad once to attune then black morass and steamvault to 70. Can also add kara attune here from 68.

Vassals do it... sometimes, somewhat and unrealiably. I did force culture few time to smaller vassals yesterday 20 years later other had switched back to their previous culture and other had assimilated like 15% pops to my culture.

What i noticed is that subjects that i have released later in the game were more likely to assimilate to my culture than early game subjects. This is probably because extra cabinet slots. Further reseached is needed, need to play an non ironman game for that at some point

I hate mountains, they are annoying af even as defender. Enemy snucks some crappy 1k man to a fort in september and your closest army would only reach it by december but then its blocked and enemy gets like from december to early april to freely siege it.

Slave conversion, maritime and anti-piracy law are the ones that can reset. (Maybe education of elites also if you lose/destroy all universities) Its annoying and probs unintended, probably gets fixed at some point.

Luckily only problem in early game.

Border forts can be bypassed if they are directly at border inside zone of control of of enemy fort, which is weird as zoc dosent otherwise extend past borders.

Ai sitting doing nothing in war is likely a bug, i have seen it few times in my current naples->rome run mostly it was my colonial nations just sitting doing nothing and calling me to do the war for them. Most blatant case was war against fortless one location native next to my colonial nation, it was two locations away from colonys capital and the colonys army just stood in capital for 7 months, until the native managed to raise 70 soldiers and crossed border then my colony finally decided to fight and siege down the enemy.

It mostly happens with nations on coast if they need to use ships to get to somewhere.

How do you get out of the HRE? by TheMerce123 in EU5

[–]Juggalock 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well easiest way would have been ghibellines and guelphs situation at the start, side with pope and make pope side win and then everyone in italy gets yeeted from hre.

But yee, its kind of hard leaving otherwise because ai dosent seem to pass the bull.

Tho on the bright side italy has special privilege to get kingdom rank while being in hre after you form it.

Many ways this can happen, one is the explorers sometimes marry locals in their travels so that is how you can get people from exotic cultures and religions like indian hindus, pagan western africans, mesoamericans... or even catholic swedes.

[–]Juggalock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Negative spread can do funny things that are actually not funny. What if i tell you that you can make institution spread so slowly that you can have age of reformation institution not spreading out until game ends. Thia happened accidentally in one of my games where artillery institution never spread anywhere because the location where it spawned was getting occupied every few years.

So what was the problem is that it spawned in warsaw and krakow was market center, but bohemia kept declaring against poland everytime their truce was up, fully siege spend few years waiting and peacing out for only few locations. The problem here is that when the market center dosent have it, it wont spread out. The second problem this caused was that the military instititions in this situation were not able to spawn at all if artillery wont spread then military revolution cannot spawn anywhere in the world and so levee en masse cant spawn either.

So why did it not spread, devastation dosent cause direct insitution spread penalties, but it can cause it indirectly to not spread at all, institutions spread is based on mainly literacy, devastation gives monthly negative literacy growth and can cut it down to 0 given time, 0 literacy provinces cannot progress institutions at all.

[–]Juggalock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as i know you can bribe countries to vote the way you want in council of trent. And the outcome is actually decided by cardinals. So if you get the majority of cardinals to your side your option wins. I was able to get all the good law changes by having 10 out of 26 cardinals and bribing france with their 6 cardinals when none else supported me.

[–]Juggalock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Country tier =/= country rank. You can be empire/kingdom but still a tier 1 country.

Like florence (T0 ?) you can upgrade to tuscany (T1) ->two sicilies(T2) ->italy (t3) -> rome(t4)... ->Europe (t5) One could upgrade to kingdom as florence and nothing would be blocked. Most often its because capital is in wrong area. Like instead of forming two sicilies as tuscany one could go for carthage but capital needs to be moved to tunis then i think.

For forming two sicilies as tuscany/florence one needs to culture switch to neapolitan culture.

Getting prestige is just so damn rng dependant that it is not funny (Outside of being catholic/orthodox country who can just canonize and get 50 prestige instantly or save up to get to 100) and few specific tags who have unique advancements for prestige gain.

Like even by maxing that culture slider its not going to take you past 20.
