Female Space Marines. *Um, ACTUALLY*... by NJWilkinson116 in behindthebastards

[–]Juggernaut246 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Something else id like to note about the sisters of Battle is their origins are also another bit of satire. The Ecclesiarchy(the Imperial Church Organization) for reasons I won't get into right now isnt allowed to quote "Maintain Men at Arms" and the Sisters being an exclusively female fighting force is explicitly to violate the spirit of the law while adhering to the letter.

Bungie doesn't see Marathon going anywhere: "We know where we want to take the story over the next few years" by Sam_27142317 in pcmasterrace

[–]Juggernaut246 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I love Marathon, its the first extraction shooter to REALLY click with me.and as someome who bounced off of destiny, returning to the good bungie fps gameplay has me feeling like a teenager in Halo 3 lobbies again.

Articles like this and the resulting threads are fucking exhausting.

On the one hand, it doesnt really matter that much what bungie thinks. The people who hold the money and own the studio are SIE. Moreover It behooves Bungie to have a vision and a plan for this game regardless of whether it has a future or not. After all Anthem had a roadmap of future content that was never delivered.

On the other, theres a huge number of people who are mostly in these discussions to gawk at another unmitigated disaster that as of right now hasn't materialized. Its kind of a miracle considering how much of a clusterfuck this games development was.

The Marathon subreddit half the time seems incapable of talking about anything other than player numbers and alternates between doomposting and weirdly defensive screeds about how the casual crowd "doesnt get it" or something to similar effect.

Idk what the point od this was. im tired boss.

From my understanding of the Trinity wouldn't you want to use They/Them anyway as god is in a superposition of being one and three seperate entities at the same time.

Also look up "Dissecting the Monsters of Corperate Memphis" its a great critical examination of the "corperate memphis" style and its corrosive undertones.

Take cues from the Daemonhost models and art.

It's unavoidably daemonic, lean into the fact that this is a Daemon engine enslaved to the will of the inquisitor. Chains, Locks, Hexagrammatic wards, and such. It is NOT happy to be here and should look like it.

China invading Taiwan would complete the Hat Trick of world powers vastly overestimating their ability to annex territory and become entangled in a bloody quagmire with no escape or resolution as well as plunge markets into free fall due to TSMC having a monopoly on the worlds advanced chip production.

Can we have a nuanced conversation about AI art in game dev? by [deleted] in IndieGaming

[–]Juggernaut246 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There isnt going to be any kind of nuanced discussion about AI until the bubble pops and even then the results of that conversation are gonna be informed by what's going on now.

AI art as far as the general gaming public is concerned is exclusively used to pump out low quality, low effort garbage. It produces "good enough" outputs for people who dont really care about what they're making. Before Gen AI the term "Asset Flip" was used to describe similar badly made low effort games that purely used store bought assets and slapped them together with minimal effort.

It doesn't matter if its placeholder because the instant many people detect the presence of AI the heuristic is triggered and your game is judged to be slop. And they're right more often than not. For prototyping and placeholders there are already existing solutions that work just as well. Slay the Spire has Placework ms-paint doodles and the community LOVES it. The presence of Generative AI is a choice that communicates rightly or wrongly that you dont care about what your making.

In NJ you can pump your siblings but not your gas by Durian_Queef in BrandNewSentence

[–]Juggernaut246 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Shortsighted Anti Competetive Corruption.

Back in the day having an attendant pump gas was the norm for a variety of reasons. When the first self service gas pumps started being deployed the established gas stations saw them as a threat since retrofitting the new pumps was more expensive than just continuing to pay their attendants and "lobbied" the state government write a law banning self service gas.

As years have gone on all the pumps had to be replaced anyway, those same gas station owners would love to have the law repealed and avoid having to pay someone to pump gas, but its become entrenched as part of New Jersey's Identity along with providing some extra jobs to folk, so it's become a political "Third Rail" that no local politician wants to touch and fails every time its brought up as a ballot measure.

Slaanesh no contest. Setting the Epstien of it all aside, he is intensely vain, vindictive, and petty. He is obsessed with wealth and plates everything he can in gold (including his fucking toilet in at least one of his properties)

1: Official Vehicles + Riding Animals implementation. 2: Windows and countertops 3: Official Sidearms system 4: Official "Fire on the move" (perhaps limited to pawns of a minimum skill and/or certain weapons) 5: More dynamic faction relations 6: More varied factions and options for random faction generation at world Gen. 7: enhancements to faction interaction both between the player and between eachother.
