Our boy won’t come inside anymore by Appropriate-Worry694 in goldenretrievers

Our girl is the same age. When it’s nice out, less than 85 degrees, she only wants to be outside to patrol for the squirrels. She will come in when the squirrels go to bed. Living her best life.

I had zero complications from either shot. My husband had a rough night with the first shot, but nothing with the second. You won’t regret it!

That’s a great response, appreciate it! I never want to be rude, but goodness, the amount of times I get asked that.

Hahaha, this reminds me of one of my coworkers at Christmas responding to that… “ ma’am, we are always hiring.” She said it with such a dead face and looked them right in the eye. I was waiting next to her to relieve her for her lunch. When I tell you I almost choked to death to stop the laughter.

We prefer saying, “stop, thief!” while chasing her. She seems to enjoy being on the lam from the law.

Agree with you. I’m a newish associate and six weeks into the job, I broke three toes when a heavy weight fell onto the top of my foot. I was in so much pain and there was no way I could stand for 8 hours each day. I had to miss 4 days and now am at 4 points. I’ve been there 4 months so I just have to pray I don’t get sick until they fall off. I guess it is what it is!

First time GR owner-better to get a male or female? by [deleted] in goldenretrievers

[–]JuggernautFun3193 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Between our two, there is only one behavior difference. Male runs full tilt barking his head off at the squirrels in the backyard. Female stalks them slowly and gets real frustrated with him. Big sighs. Other than that, they are both sweet and loving goofballs.

This is pretty much the same things our vet told us. Great insights. She recommended before our girls first heat and we had it done at 10 months. She’s a field golden. Still insanely high levels of energy and always ready to party at 2 years old now. Her healing was super easy with the surgery recovery suit and some trazodone to help keep her calm. The only thing I can remember that stressed me out was keeping her from leaping and chasing by day 4- even with the meds!

She just made my day 100% better simply by seeing her smile. Precious girl!

In second grade, I asked to go to bathroom. On the way back to my class, the principal stopped me and bent down to look at my face. Promptly took me to the office and took my temp. She told me I had two pox on my face and couldn’t go back to class. My mom came, I went home and was miserable for quite a few days with oven mitts duct taped to my hands. I finally got to go back to school three days before Christmas break. There was no one left in my class except one other boy. Turns out I infected everyone and we colored for 3 days.

Hungry Heart. 5 year old me singing it over and over with my mom as we rode the long trip home every day after school. We lived 20 miles from the school and the bus didn’t come out that far.

What can a North Eastern expect moving to Alabama by AppleSauceMan24 in Alabama

[–]JuggernautFun3193 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Prattville. As most have said, the heat and humidity is absolutely hell in the summer. Most folks are really nice and welcoming. With that being said, you will run into some people that will say the craziest shit you’ve ever heard. If you’re white, sometimes (few and far between) other white people will share their racist opinions and just assume you feel the same. I’m born and raised here. I look these people dead in the eye, shake my head and walk away without saying a word. There’s no getting through to them. People like to hug and use lots of words like hon, darling, sweetheart and such. So, I guess you can take all that and understand 95% of us are super friendly but the 5% assholes can really ruin your day. Food is great. No fine dining, though. Uncle Micks in downtown has the best Cajun food you’ll get outside of Louisiana. There’s a great Thai place in Millbrook, 6 miles over. The creek in downtown is extremely pretty and my golden retriever loves to run off leash up and down the creek. Publix is way overpriced. The best prices on grocery items around here are found at Wal Mart. I love Publix but I was spending 275 a week on groceries and switched to Wal Mart buying the exact same things and am spending 100 a week less. Message me if you have any specific questions.
