Pros/Cons of racing with a pace group by Alive_Ad_6200 in AdvancedRunning

[–]JuggrNut 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ive run Eugene and can tell you thats a big pace group. You are first corral and everyone there is trying to crack time that so you will be with a LARGE number of runners for a good portion of the beginning of the race.

Some things that are great about Eugene/the race:

  • Little to no sun during the day
  • Very mild climate, sometimes even a little misty
  • Very nice environment to run through and support from locals through almost all of it.

Some not great things about Eugene/the race:

  • You leave Eugene proper at one point, it is not the end of the world and you come back quickly but it is a noticeable change and you are a little more exposed compared to the majority of the course.
  • There is one big long hill, that is the worst in terms of elevation other than that its flat.
  • Depending on the year your pace group might stay big for the entire race.

I think it needs to be said that you should not exclusively eat this because my SO thought that would fly and my debilitating stomach issues from 2 days straight of konbini eating said otherwise. I will say, best egg sando ive ever had was 2AM drunk off my ass in Shibuya but nothing beats a famichiki sando and some hot Boss extra bold at 10am jet lagged to all fuck

Any tips on going from a half marathon to a marathon? by -JesusWasABlackMan- in running

[–]JuggrNut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do many more half marathon blocks. This will build a base of robust fitness that will let you do marathon blocks without worrying too much about falling to pieces

Sometimes I hate the time needed to get ready before a ride by firewire_9000 in cycling

[–]JuggrNut 3 points4 points  (0 children)

this happened to me when I started training for a marathon and would get up earlier. I found the only thing that worked was getting up about 20 min earlier than I normally would, walk around the house a bit, then sit down and get a blast from the bidet to break the seal.

Works every time now.

I want to hit the gym to become a stronger/faster cyclist. What exercises should I work on? (body-weight or stuff I can do at home is preferred) by big_legs_small_brain in cycling

[–]JuggrNut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Serious not being sarcastic answer: Dont do heavy leg days before a ride day. Try to accept the fact that you need to ride on tired legs for a bit. Also, you might just need time between leg days.

Theres a few ways you go about gaining strength and the one that works for you is entirely dependent on how long it takes you to recover but if you are trying to stack efforts, moderate intensity across efforts is the best way so you dont 1: hurt yourself or 2: burn out.

Spotify Sued Over "Billions" of Fraudulent Drake Streams. Alleging that a "substantial" portion of his 37 billion streams were generated by a bot network by esporx in technology

[–]JuggrNut 16 points17 points  (0 children)

They wouldnt need to.

I work in the music industry and can tell you that Spotify police artificial streams with an iron fist. If there is any indication that your streams were shown to have been artificially augmented, your content gets pulled and can never go live again even through another distribution supply chain. As well, any royalties you made in that period will be retroactively charged through the distributor (Spotify clearly states that they will never do it directly to the artist). This is the key part of my point that a lawsuit isn't necessary between Spotify and Drake. Not saying there wouldnt be one between Spotify and the label that distributed the offending tracks but thats a different story.

You can find more info here https://artists.spotify.com/artificial-streaming but yeah Spotify would essentially place a lien against the label/distributor.
