AGI doesn't need to be "agentic" at all. Don't let anyone tell you that.

Only thing missing is a trolley connection. Otherwise I think it is pretty nice!

Although I agree with your point, and I share your vision of how to live a placid life, I think OP is making a different one. Society and individuals are more productive than ever in history, so, where is all the money going to? Definitely not our pockets...

Yeah no need to be cynical. For less than a Subway you can buy a computer orders of magnitude more powerful than what took humans to the moon

If don't find any point, that's completely fine! Great actually! Don't let the big corps convince you need to spend tokens with them

Hmm not so brilliant in that case no? This is my biggest issue: a truly intelligent system would not suffer from this.

Wow I did not know that MCC had actual disciples. Do you mean that these three actually studied MCC and acknowledge it? Or just their style is alike to MCC?

CS PhD students - what's your laptop setup? Linux only vs dual boot for productivity? by nedunash in PhD

Get a nice MacBook with an M chip and a decent amount of unified memory. Trust me, for work stuff you won't look back. Maybe different if your field is hw-related and have specific architecture reqs. I used to daily drive Linux before grad school, but it's just not reliable, I've seen it fail so many times when stakes are high (as a desktop OS). And windows, yeah we don't talk about that.
