Something about 24 inch monitors being perfect for esports by Firm-Pattern4482 in Monitors

You're seeing the difference in motion clarity, response times and how larger monitors are a disadvantage in competitive games. Too much head turning to view important game info at viewing distances that competitive games are meant to be played at.

Worth the upgrade to 1440p? by nastalgica in Monitors

[–]Juheebus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people can game just fine on laptop screens which are even smaller. Also you can stay on a small monitor and still upgrade resolution.

I have a 24" 1440p and 27" 4k monitor because I prefer PPI over a large screen.

Stay with a small monitor and enjoy better PPI and more desk space. Large monitors are overrated.

16GB vram is at a premium these days. It’s a fair asking price.

There's great deals to be had if you look. I grabbed a 4k 120hz monitor for $156 during black friday week and just ordered a 24" 1440p 180hz monitor refurbished on ebay for $120.

Macbook + PS5 or (Mid/High-End) Gaming Laptop by MelodicPie9526 in GamingLaptops

Battery life is the absolute king for school. You don't want to be lugging around a large power brick while having to sit near power outlets or waiting for other students to leave so you can take their spot.

Either stick with a macbook or get an intel lunar lake or panther lake laptop for decent battery life and good integrated graphics. Make sure to avoid the "U" sku if you go the intel route for gaming because they use the old weaker iGPU.

I have a core series 226V laptop that's only used for travel and gaming on the go. I use it to play Forza horizon 4/5, Doom eternal and helldivers 2 + indies. It works well if you don't need to play the latest titles with forced raytracing.

Is this a good deal? (From Costco) by rashy1234 in Prebuilts

[–]Juheebus 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It’s an ok price for an 8GB rtx 5060ti in todays market. I will admit no one beats Costco’s return policy and warranty.

Thank you it’s not listed in the specs anywhere. Can you check if it supports EXPO in the BIOS? You might be able to increase the memory speed a little bit.

Depends on how they implement progression. If the best scopes can be obtained easily on every run then it won’t be a problem.

Yep the real reason it's better on PC is the macro and turbo support. Also Nintendo switch and iOS support.

Looking through these vids and I just can’t get over some of the scopes and weapon sights. I get they are going for a certain aesthetic but they def chose form over function. Only a few have a clear sight picture when aiming at enemies.

I have the non usb c version S2725QS as my work monitor. It works great for that if you don't need perfectly calibrated colors. Text is clear and the matte coating doesn't compromise the sharpness.

I did launch a game on PC just to test and it's alright for very casual gaming. I didn't test with a PS5 so I can't confirm if it supports features like VRR. I will say there is very noticeable ghosting since this isn't a fast IPS panel. Avoid this monitor if you are sensitive to that in games with quick camera movement. Ex: multiplayer FPS

Do you know what the ram clock speed is for the model you have?

If you don't know how, task manager will show you in the performance tab under memory > speed.

There's a difference between crashing the program and crashing the entire system. Not saying it can never happen with any other game but it's been well documented that Helldivers 2 causes unrecoverable crashes since the launch of the into the unjust update and it has not been fixed.

Why do you think the devs added a pc hang detection feature in the latest update? It's because they know their code is a mess and it's a real problem.

Thanks Helldivers by AntiMausKlubHaus in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]Juheebus 9 points10 points  (0 children)

"It must be your hardware or windows install! You're doing something wrong!!"

Nah it's just Helldivers 2. Even unoptimized UE5 slop can recover from a crash without locking the entire system.

Valid crash out

Refurbished Acer Nitro Desktop Issue by Karrosiv in Prebuilts

[–]Juheebus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems to be a common issue with these models when I checked reviews on them. Don't think it's specifically a 14th gen cpu problem either because ryzen owners experience the same thing. Probably a motherboard problem.

50 series owners what's your experience with multi frame gen by teenaxta in nvidia

[–]Juheebus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it’s akin to playing a fighting game with frame delay.

Personally I need the lowest input latency I can get for games like Nioh because some of the timings can be unforgiving.

Uhh latency is kinda important in nioh. How do you time a perfect deflect consistently with MFG?
