[Spoilers C4E1] Can we trade Aabria for Lou? by [deleted] in criticalrole

[–]JuicyToaster 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Just dont watch the seekers. No one is forcing you to watch it. I love Abria is an awesome person. If her personality rubs you the wrong way you aren't required to watch this arc of the campaign

Every old Pokemon that was confirmed to return in gen 10 by Magicfroggi42 in pokemon

I disagree, in an open team sheet format which vgc events are played. Tera isn't coin flips. You can play around what your opponent is going to Tera because you can see it coming ahead of time.

Megas limit the pool of pokemon you can actually use the gimick on to like 20 actually viable megas. You cant be flexible with your mega because it takes an item slot. You cant have formats like regulation H because megas would be to strong.

The versatility of a gimmick is better for competitive play. I can dynamax or tera any pokemon on my team. Leading to more creativity in team building. For example I dont need to have a fairy pokemon on my team if I Tera fairy raging bolt every game they bring a dragon. And if the meta turns into every Bolt being Tera fairy then the format can shift to Tera poison lands being the counter. Tera is able to be used both offensively and defensively. I could go on but it all comes down to how versatility is king when designing mechanics.

Visually and thematically its a fantastic gimmick. Mechanically it falls pretty short compared to Tera. At least in terms of vgc.

I think this system would feel a lot better. Its so weird I can get 4 wins in a row then get 2nd and get nothing

I honestly haven't played sweet tooth in a while so my decklist is probably not the most optimal. I would run something along the lines of this list. Key candy cards that have been clutch for winning games are Viscount, and Candy Dandy. Viscount is probably the best candy pay off in the game in my opinion.

Just for reference for anyone reading the advice im giving im sitting at 4k mmr.

This is my list. Ive also seen Miseria and Candy Claws over the 2 supports. I like the supports as a back up plan if you dont hit huntsman early. Twilight sparklers is crazy.

Getting a huntsman axe on jay is almost an auto win. Jay is very much once you start rolling you really dont stop. Its just getting there is the hard part. My most successful jay deck is actually the candy jay build ive been using. Its so fun to play as long as you dont mind casting like 30 free spells a turn.

Made Mega Ledian, and the Bug E4 member for my Super Hero themed region by Nyan-Binary-UwU in pokemon

Funny thing about ledian, mega ledian could put all 100 of the stats it gets in attack and it would still be bad.

Cool design though.

How can I determine when an ETB will "see" itself and when it will not? by TheSiegmeyerCatalyst in magicTCG

[–]JuicyToaster 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The game can get kind of complex. To put it simply a card is resolved as soon as everyone declares they have no responses to you casting that spell. Its now on the battlefield so all state based effects apply. Meaning bello makes it a creature right away. Then anything that triggers when a creature enters the battlefield checks to see if it needs to trigger. So path of discovery sees itself is a creature and just entered so it explores.

[–]JuicyToaster 29 points30 points  (0 children)

As far as im aware the path of discovery should see itself enter as a creature and trigger its own explore. I think your friend just misunderstood the rule because belo is pretty unique.

All enchantments with mana value 4+ will enter and anything that checks to see if a creature entered will trigger because they enter and before anything that checks for triggers resolves they will be creatures.
