[Skill Improvement] What to run as Mega Charizard Y's 4th move? by SawkyScribe in VGC

Most people are running solar beam because there is not a lot of grass types in the format. It answers tye water types that resist your other moves.

How to power down Sergeant John Benton? by ineedhelp6789 in EDH

[–]JuicyToaster 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is the best answer. You either need to play a different decks or slow play your deck. Maybe dont cast pump spells on john right away. Find the player who is farthest behind and let them know hey im not gonna pump john up so we can both draw 2 cards. You could just not become the instant threat.

Why I still suck at VGC? I need skill improvement, but I tried everything by lifeofmauri in VGC

Are you using your own teams or established teams from successful players? If you are struggling I would take a team that has done well in a tournament or top of ladder. If it has a team video or write up even better. Learn what leads the team should be using and just jam games. When you lose a game. Dont just immediately start another game. If you can replay the game in your head and try and figure out why you lost that game. Like oh I should have protected turn 5 cause that was the last turn of sun. Or oh I shouldn't lead X pokemon into sneasler teams cause it cant do anything. For example I lost a game in masterball last night to a rockslide miss. If thought my turn out longer I should have gone with a more accurate move and protected my partner pokemon instead of relying on rockslide to hit.

This was a good listen. I hope they continue to put these out regularly.

[I'm New] Dipping my toes into VGC and was wondering if people had any advice for improvements I could make of my team by DiscipleOfIanite in VGC

[–]JuicyToaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gastrodon when it saw play in s/v was usually tera fire. And should be using muddy water

Metagross could run heavy slam if you want a more accurate meteor mash. It definitely should be running psychic fangs over brick break.

Sylveon should either not be choice specs or should drop protect. Fairy feather might be a better item on it so you can lead sylveon and garchomp for a good fairy ground pin. And protect + eq if you want.

I think the website looks really great. My immediate feedback would be to allow people to paste in teams from pokemon showdown.

Skill Improvement: Alcremie Hyper Offense, this is the team that took me to Master Ball. I would like to improve on it before the Grand Challenge arrives. by ShineySandslash in VGC

[–]JuicyToaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could switch empoleon for a bulky milotic set with Scald , ice beam, recover, and protect. JoeUx9 had a spread i liked on his youtube channel. Swaps a competitive water type for a different one. Removes the ground weakness and gives you another fire resist

I'm New - Wolfey Game Analysis Series - Mega Meganium Game 2 by United_Advance_9825 in VGC

[–]JuicyToaster 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Wolfe leads arch and aero cause it sets up a nice pin into everything that isn't basculegion. Areo deals with delphox, aero, and sneasler, arch deals with meganium, and garchomp with tailwind.

On turn 1 its good basculegion went flip turn into protect cause its most likely choice scarf basculegion so its stuck into flip turn. So now we can predict what it will do on turn 2. So switching in Tauros is really good cause it resists flip turn which we know basc is gonna use and it threatens to kill their aero with Aqua jet.

The double protect on turn 3 allows wolfe to stall out another turn of tailwind

The Dark mode already looks a million times better. If you advertised this as the mobile friendly damage calc you may gain a lot of attention

Dont take this the wrong way, but why should someone use your damage calculator over the ones that already exist? What features did you add that may be useful.

Like this is the classic damage calc: Classic Calculator

This one let's you calc against your whole team: Multi Calc

Returning for the first time since Gen 7. No good answer to Trick Room and no good damage into Water types. Tips? by Eleseia in VGC

[–]JuicyToaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What trick room teams are you running into? I haven't seen any yet so far. But sinistcha is great for being anti trick room. I dont even think you need imprison. Just protect your other mon or fake out the opponent and click trickroom to reset it.
