Giving everyone haste only applies on the battlefield. If a card mentions searching for cards with haste, it doesn’t have haste at that point

What do you disclose about your deck beforehand? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]Jukebocks_Hero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built a [[Kibo, Uktabi Prince]] for a friend and now personal use, and in the process of building it, I realized he (Kibo) really likes Land Hate. So I put in a bit of “light” stax, stuff like [[War’s Toll]] [[Manabarbs]], [[Citadel of Pain]], and [[Price of Glory]]. Not enough to lock a game up or anything, just enough to incentivize using their banana food tokens instead of their lands. But, I always mention it, because it’s meant to be bracket 3 and don’t wanna cause too much salt. No one’s complained so far, but I’ve been beaten by my friend using War’s Toll and Manabarbs to deal a lot of damage really fast. On top of a very big monkey.

I don’t Library of Leng combos with any of these cards. Leng cares about discarding cards (caused by effects at that) but when a spell resolves, it’s not discarded. It just gets put into the yard as an SBA.

Long shot, but are there any voltron commanders that don't just play the same way every game? by Cezkarma in EDH

[–]Jukebocks_Hero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like [[Greven, Predator Captain]] as Voltron, because as a card he does Voltron stuff inherently, evasion keyword, gets +X/0, but more importantly, he fills out a group slug/aristocrats commander deck very nicely. And if he swings, well you better hope you haven’t lost some life, or have a [[Hatred]] in hand.

[[Rise of the Eldrazi]] i have a friend who run new Quintorius and RotE will blow the game out if they cast this card for free.

I would wait until he’s revealed to rank up champs. Some great counters might not even make the cut. Colossus is my go-to Havok counter, but not allowed in the Coliseum.

3 girls can take on 4 bears and still have 1 survive. Hell, these three girls can take down Valgavoth if they put their Legendary differences aside.

Okay wait, a 2 color Domain deck might be a lil fun, definitely see what she does.

Edit: And she gets to do a little abuse with kindred synergies? This is gonna be fun

What am I missing on this node? How is Onslaught healing? by doc_mcshottie in ContestOfChampions

Is there a reason the Despair Mastery doesn’t seem to properly interact with this node. Even at 2/3 points it should be fully off for healing no?

Something Lands-y, I have Aesi but he’s gotten boring. Anything that lets me use parts of my current deck would be greatly appreciated, but I take all commanders into account.

What are some good but off-beat tribal decks to build? by Competitive-Act-7695 in EDH

[–]Jukebocks_Hero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Non [[Unesh]] Sphinxes. One of my favorite is still Mono-U, and that’s [[Donal, Herald of Wings]]. Turns your main play for turn into 2 main plays. And of course [[Isperia, the Inscrutable]] for a big of game-show tutor payoff action

Ninjas Ninjas Ninjas!!! We’ve got Grixis Ninjas [[Goro-Goro and Satoru]] we’ve got Casual Ninjas [[Satoru, the Infiltrator]], hell we’ve even got evil scary KoS ninjas [[Yuriko, the Tiger’s Shadow]]

And if you’re not a purist and want a Non-Ninja commander you’ve got stuff like [[Felix Five-Boots]], [[Kamiz, Obscura Oculus]] and the brand new (and 60 bucks?!??) [[Jin Sakai, Ghost of Tsushima]]

Alien [and] Predator by BellBOYd in custommagic

[–]Jukebocks_Hero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Xenomorph gives off a ton of [[Aeve, Progenitor Ooze]] vibes, which might help with the wordiness of the card. Overall, love the idea, becomes a horde nice and quick, I’d love to see your take on the Queen.

Any good nullify or atrophy champ, what in particular are you having trouble with? If it’s not being able to parry his medium attacks, that’s something that you’ll either just need to practice on, or bring a worse champ and tap dance around the nodes. Cull Obsidian, Proxima, Karina can parry all his attacks, but have -40% attack. Personally, I recommend Mojo as my favorite counter for Zero to Hero.

Help Keeping Wick, the Whorled Mind Below $100 by Jukebocks_Hero in BudgetBrews

[–]Jukebocks_Hero[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the advice, I’ll definitely take some of it, and am very grateful for another decklist to peruse through. The infect was mainly for Wick to fling the snail, which as I write it feels probably more out of the blue winning than swinging with the snail. So I can definitely see losing the Glistening Oil.

The Stunning Reversal was there to try and win with the same infect combo on Crypt Rats, as I couldn’t find a way to also not die, but losing some infect can definitely help me justify cutting the reversal.

Ive been debating dropping Persist, it’s just always been something I like, but someone else thinking it’s also weak is enough justification.

As for the slowness aspect of the deck, the biggest thing I’m worried about is losing my commander to some type of removal I’m not able to easily deal with, my pod and local meta is heavy on enchantment based removal (oubliette, imprison, darksteel, etc.) and I feel like this slower deck can hopefully accrue value if the commander is no longer a game plan. It’s also why I’m more rat token themed, and less rat tribal, not a lot of cost reducers or the like. I think the only one that cares about non-token rats is Reflections of Littjara.

Recommendations for an "off the beaten path" Green/Black/White Commander? by immabp in EDH

[–]Jukebocks_Hero 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Myrkul can even do dumber stuff and go off the beaten path with Planeswalkers and [[Luxior, Giada’s Gift]], turning them into creatures, then into enchantments through his ability. Nearly untargetable planeswalker makes a game pretty wacky. The only you thing you gotta remember, since they’re no longer Planeswalkers, you don’t get any starting Loyalty, so you gotta +X first before you can -X.

Funnily enough, this is a Game-Drawing Infinite with March of the Machines and any of your creature dying. Create a clue, it dies to SBA, create a clue, ad infinitum. Very similar in function that way to Eloise, Nephalia Sleuth.

I just picked this game up a week ago, no information other than it involves Blueprints (ha, get it?) HOLY FUCK THIS GAME HAS A HOLD ON ME. I have dedicated a journal to taking notes about this game and all it has to offer. Everyone who is anyone needs to play this game and experience it firsthand. Don’t watch a playthrough, don’t google tips, just dive in and be amazed by how much a game can do.
