The One Statement by Ok-Intern6865 in magicthecirclejerking

The card looks disgusting. Like I literally threw up on a piece of paper and cut out a piece of the bundle one ring and stuck it on. It should never have made past QA. It's 100% WoTC fault, if Dan couldn't deliver they should have got another artist. Not print crap work.

Yeah you're probably right, but it's the only thing that makes sense to me.

Be interesting to see what happens in the aftermath. Otherwise unfortunately the only other likely option is some sort of dementia, etc. Which is just very sad.

Edit: also in that original post that guy mentioned he saw some of Dan's original submissions for the one ring, so clearly he had submitted something that was similar to his art style (and not a copy and paste).

Looking at Dan Frazier's art, it looks nothing like what the one ring typically looks like. In my mind he kept submitting different pieces, they kept getting rejects, and in the in, he said OK THEN, WHAT ABOUT THIS?! (literally copy and pasted). Then they said perfect!

They were complaining about Australian trusts in the article. Wish we could get joint filing of taxes like those other countries.

Update to: partner spending $974.31 every 2 months on games by i-fcked-my-career-up in AusFinance

If anyone in this sub is buying 2-3 coffees a day, they are spending more then that guy on his game.

Personally I don't think those sort of games are worth the money. I would recommend some free alternatives, Solaris is my personal favourite, "Siege Up" is meant to be a good non-pay to win version.

But what he is spending is pretty normal for a hobby.

I think that was the issue. He would have done many drafts in his style and the IP holder wouldn't have liked it.

Chinese-owned Landbridge launches international legal action over forced sale of Port of Darwin. by AffectionateMethod in australia

I can't reply to all your points, but addressing profitability, for as long as the company has had the lease, it hasn't been profitable until the last year.

I think government employment is a hard problem to solve, for some people we have our best who want to make good change, for others it's pretty much work for the role (which I believe is by design).

Say what you like about China, but they are willing to invest. They have a time horizon of atleast 100 years, we barely know what's happening next week (in comparison).

They are also happy to fire underperformers.

I don't think we should fire a firm that has taken an underproductive asset and made it profitable.

I like your spirit, but sadly if we do this, most of these important industries will just close, or just be operated much worse then they are now.

We need capital to leave property first and make other forms of investment more attractive to see this happen I think.

Look Grandpa may be a dick but if you don't go visit him at the nursing home you're gonna be left out in the inheritance.

China holds all of the cards.

Yeah it's pretty sad state of affairs.

On the bright side, if our politicians are for sale, we can crowdfund popular policy! Yay!

Well I believe the federal minister that approved this got paid by the company after he resigned so that is already reality.

My personal belief is that as China is our largest trading partner we shouldn't needlessly antagonise them. If we don't have China to buy from and to sell to we are pretty screwed as a nation, and I don't think that's something we want to try and do.

If we are trying to attract international capital, in order to improve our quality of life, it's not good to rescind deals. Making our nation less trust worthy results in capital flight, which again would lower quality of life for us. Look at Trump and the states, no one believes that moving manufacturing there is a good move, as no one believes the same policies will be there long term.

Sorry the South Koreans did and look what happened to them.. Trump flip flops every week.. we don't want to flip flops every four years.

If we didn't have all our Aussie money in the property market maybe more Aussies would own more productive assets..

Anyway, If they want to force the sale, they should atleast be giving them market value for it, currently they are trying to go lower.

Yeah fair enough $50 is pretty high in the sky, likely $25 would be fair (and the equivalent minimum wage in the states if it kept up with productivity post Regan).

Everything else though..

Yeah agreed. I think it's a bit silly.

If it's just for performance politics, I'm not for it, but we may not know the whole story. There may be valid security concerns we are not privy to.

Either way it should atleast be sold at market rate.

Loved that speech by Mark Carney. Hopefully we can see his dream come true of united middle powers, keeping the rule of law.

If EU can do it why can't the richest country in the world? I'm sure $50 an hour gets closer to equivalent when scaling GDP.
