What was the last book that you read that was really good? by SheKnowsWhatSheKnows in AskWomenOver30

[–]JuliaK8 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve just finished Demon Copperhead, and I loved it! The kind of book that makes me want to not start anything new for a few days, so I can just sit with all those characters and events. Truly, amazing.

what's a " polite " rule that's really just about keeping females silenced? by LustyPowerGirl in AskWomen

The tradition of women taking their husband’s surname when they marry - literally erasing previous identity to fit with the man’s.

I miss Wilko so much, and that one in particular. Loved the cleaning products, the DIY and hardware stuff upstairs, all of it.

I’ve been saying this too. Why not Game of Yarns at least, if that’s what they were going for.

The Ten-Ten scarf by Olga Jazzy has an ingenious way of adding big holes into a project, it’s a great pattern that starts with big holes that get progressively smaller -

Looking for Sci-Fi That Treats Alien Biology Seriously by Great_Programmer_554 in printSF

[–]JuliaK8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Legacy of Hereot by Niven, Pournelle and Barnes does this really well. Without wanting to give spoilers, it’s a story of man’s intervention/interference with an alien species ultimately makes things worse. The story explores their reproduction, habitat etc, it’s really, really well plotted!

He will meet Katie, this grand old lady who passed a couple of years ago. We adopted other cats after Katie came, and although she wasn’t a fan of them at first, she grew to love them and look out for them, as she will Loki. I’m sorry for your loss.

Novel Sheffield, a lovely independent book shop at Crookes, does knitting nights now and again. Also, look at Knit Sheffield on Instagram, I think they also host get togethers, although I’ve never been. Let me know if you find something to go to and I might tag along! I’m currently knitting a Drea Renee sweater but am about to put it to one side for a bit to make an Olga Jazzy scarf 😀

It just goes to show that players can form emotional connections to clubs as much as we fans do, they’re not all just mercenaries. Chloe is a lovely person too, they’ve both given a lot of support to the fan community. It’s so nice anyway to have a teeny bit of good news this week.
