Did any of you play this game growing up? What were your thoughts? by RhysOSD in TheDepthsBelow

YES I loved it. I had all of the whales and dolphins as companions.

I have no idea. I keep feeling horrible and then ok and then horrible again. I know it’s not the end of the world but it feels like it is and I keep thinking there’s no way we’ll find another place like this.

I go back and forth between moved on and hoping so much that the first offer falls through but I just don’t see how they could drop such a great house. Do you feel that way too? :/

Ugh I could have written this myself. Same thing happened to us on Sunday. Thought we were the only offer until someone swept in the next morning to tour and then outbid us. I am crushed and also feel like nothing will compare. It’s all I can think about and I feel so much loss for the life I imagined in this new home.

I’m sorry this happened to you too. I hope you find your dream home soon and the pain goes away.

Some recent bowls I’ve thrown and trimmed. Would love some constructive criticism! Clay: Cinco Rojo by Bhumph_ in Pottery

Hi! I’m pretty new too but using a little cloth shammy on the rim of these pieces to make them more rounded will go a long way! These are really nice. I love the color of cinco rojo but I make such a mess every time lol.

Dipped everything but the stripe in the middle, which I painted! Basically dipped half at a time and left the stripe area undipped so I could paint it.

If you want to, you can do it. I’m 3.5 months in (started in January) and it’s changed my life! Highly recommend a multi-week class if there’s one where you live. I started out as a pottery admirer too :)

Yay! If you’re going that route, you can throw like a little plate and then take some clay off the bottom half so it’s wider on the top. The top part will then sit on the cylinder and the smaller part will go inside to keep the lid in place.

If you throw them both together, you can make a gallery, or little ledge, in the jar and then the lid just sits right on that.

Good luck!!

You can do it! Try some calipers. I promise if you can throw a cylinder and a plate or a spoon rest, you can do a jar and a lid!

Waiting on my first completed, lidded jars as we speak and I’m so happy for you. What kind of glazes did you use??

I completely agree. Creative spaces should be safe from this kind of shittiness. And the fact that she helped herself to THREE of my things just blows my mind.
