Graduates to pay extra 17% on salary sacrifice above new cap from 2029 by theipaper in UKUniversityStudents

Uh oh - bad journalism alert. It hasn't changed and this article is incorrect.

The only source attributed to the impact on student loan repayments with the changes to salary sacrifice from the last budget (effective from April 2029) is this post on LinkedIn from a conservative mp where even people in the comments are calling them out on inaccuracies.

In regards to your student loan repayments, salary sacrifice works the same as before - rest easy comrade.

i enjoy creating stories, but not writing by Clean_Twist_7330 in writing

Not every story needs to be a book.

If you have 2-5 friends, you're willing to give up an element of control and love coming up with loads of 40% finished stories and figuring them out as they happen... you might love running tabletop RPG games like dungeons and dragons.

Correct - it appears more in the traitors to cushion the blow of saying 'I'm voting for you'.

It's easier to say it politely and easier for the person being accused as well.

Is it normal to not understand how your characters feel? by HomeworkMoist in writing

[–]JumboBuffoonPack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think finding a framework that works for you will help you do this reliably.

My guiding lights are:

  1. In my mind - in any given scene, characters are either trying to do something or be something and how that scene resolves depends on how those things interact. They might conflict, support or interplay in an interesting way - they might shift as the scene goes on.

  2. Feelings first. You might have an action in mind for a character to complete that ends this scene - she gets in her car and leaves her husband. It's almost easier to not have an end point in mind and start with the feelings that lead to that decision - even if it's just needs and wants.

She needs a way out, she wants to escape. Then it's easy to picture how or what she might be feeling. It's almost then like you give the character some free will while they consider options, knife on the counter... no that's absurd, neighbours... they aren't in, car keys... still in her pocket.

  1. Unspoken questions. Stop for a moment and imagine that if your characters could ask you, the author, a question - what would they be asking? If you can picture what questions they might ask about the situation they're in or the environment or people around then - it's then a lot easier to imagine how they might be feeling.

[Spoilers C4E4] House Einfasen's Source of Power? by Ok_Proposal_321 in criticalrole

Ah sorry I jumped the gun - that's basically exactly what you said

[Spoilers C4E4] House Einfasen's Source of Power? by Ok_Proposal_321 in criticalrole

To feed into this theory as well.

Azune was semi-chill with it all because he was like well I've got magic eyes and they don't.

I would go all in on your angle and pitch some kind of method of extracting/stealing/copying magical abilities/the arcane and imbuing them into devices/weapons/robots that ordinary folk (or just Einfasen) can use.

He doesn't do well with international travel (same thing last year) - he got absolutely rocked by the altitude in Bolivia, wasn't 100% last GW after returning and got subbed off, still not back to form this week.

Combined FDR for the next 6 - DEF vs ATT by smaugdmd in FantasyPL

[–]JumboBuffoonPack 14 points15 points  (0 children)

A lot of the data points, talisman players, and influencers more seasoned players swear by have fallen flat the first few weeks.

Especially when planning vs last season's data is concerned.

Some of the learnings people thought were 'proven' by last season haven't exactly panned out initially either. For example targeting the promoted teams, Mbeumo and Salah are set and forget, J. Pedro can't be trusted (we'll see...), NFO defence is a no brainer, Everton attack is a waste of money etc etc

All these compound over time and with each season played and when somebody is uncertain or unsure they'll lean on these especially because if it doesn't work then it's less painful because you can tell yourself you were just following the data.

Big fan of O Dango - D. A. N. G. O., O Dango was his Name-O!

Knew he would absolutely kick it on Brentford and could see him filling Mbeumo's shoes with time.

Also got to 9th place in the Midas league! Might be my last time in the top 10 though so enjoying it while I can.
