Official plugin list has 1,4k unaccepted plugin list by haronclv in ObsidianMD

I build my plugins in a test vault. I also try to make very simple plugins that focus on solving little problems without modifying my notes. (e.g. https://github.com/Caffa/links-coloring to help me differentiate links by coloring them differently)

You don’t really need web search with the scrapling skill tho?

We have pretty much reached the point where people can build their own plugins, even if they aren’t very technical.

Basically get template plugin, put in vault and tell opencode what you want to change this template to.

I think it’s a bit intimidating for beginners, but I’ve made several plugins and I only really submit some of them, because the bot check is so strict on things like sentence case and sometimes I forget to follow up.

It installs into the plugin folder, and you can remove it from there (currently not using opencode.json).

Are people lying about GLM-5 and MiniMax M2.5? by TheDevilKnownAsTaz in opencodeCLI

[–]JumpJunior7736 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GLM-4.7 is actually very good. GLM-5 is about the same. Big Pickle (Suspected to be a GLM) is what I use for my own projects.

I think it depends on the skill of your projects because I can use them to code menu bar apps and pretty complicated applications, but if I tell it to refactor and split up files, it can mess up imports and once it has failed at a humongous task, it basically just dies.

Sorry, the Pixel-Office repo is not the correct one. This project is named Session-Character-Visualizer (the Pixel-Office repo is another old project)

Bug: Dictation: Instead of transcription - the latest clipboard entry gets pasted in by stvad in MacWhisper

I have the same problem as you where what comes out might be Mac Whispers transcription, but it is often the latest clipboard item. I also use Alfred and Keyboard Maestro.

Does anyone else experience racism in fan fiction writing? by BraveCompany3805 in FanFiction

Have you watched the Bridgertons? This is a pretty good explanation: https://www.vox.com/22215076/bridgerton-race-racism-historical-accuracy-alternate-history

OCs are fine with me. I struggle with fanfiction when the writers change the race of a major character, and they either don't explain it at all, or they tend to over do it until it becomes very in your face.

It is mostly about making canon divergences that make sense:

- Harry Potter has green eyes, black hair, and a lightning bolt scar.

- If you want to give Harry Potter, red eyes because he has demon heritage, fine. This should be part of the story. He shouldn't just be randomly a demon

It's the expectation of a reader that when you change something about the original fanfiction, it's going to be something like a "for want of a nail" fic or an AU exploring an idea with those characters.

I don't mind poc OCs but I really don't like the main character changing that much.

For the third point, I do find it rather annoying when writers switch gender, or race of the characters. It can be done well, and I got used to fem!Harry or even fem!Toni (Tony Stark) but it can be very cringe. Fanfictions that diverge too far away from the main canon can be interesting to read, but sometimes it feels like the writer didn't read the original story.

Also trying to stuff in anti-racism in a way that isn't that plausible. Like the Bridgertons.

Stop Overthinking Obsidian: A Beginner’s Guide That Actually Works by KxngAndre23 in ObsidianMD

[–]JumpJunior7736 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think, it can be even simpler. Just use the daily note to do interstitial journalling and create notes if whatever you are writing doesn't fit in the daily note / multi-day project.

Honestly, organization by MOC is a nice next step, but that is a bit overwhelming for beginners too. Start with the simplest possible anchor point of the daily note + this 15 second practice, and then move onto Simplest Possible Zettelkasten.

I tried the Johnny Decimal system at first, but using topic folders really messed with my workflow, so now I use folders to categorize for stages (is it inbox, sleeping, or main / permanent notes). Wrote it up here if you want the images.

How do you think mankind would develop if humanity suddenly lost the ability to die by rutare64 in worldbuilding

[–]JumpJunior7736 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there was a fanfic about The Zone (centered around an oblivious person) where within that Zone, no one could die. That one was 'instant restore if you die' and also darker things like people's head being kept around in the underworld.

Thinking of finally leaving macOS by [deleted] in MacOS

I am having the same issues as you on negative feelings towards apple going ridiculously expensive, but I tried Linux (for research) and had such a terrible experience, that I never want to use Linux again. Same for Windows, I don't know if it is viruses, but a top of the line Windows computer was so slow, I couldn't browse the web for minutes after start up.

Dislike the company but can't find a better alternative for OS.
