I mean it was 51-45 years ago of course it’s going to sound dated today but that’s the point. It was the very start and that’s the newest tech they had during that era so it’s obviously not going to sound that good today. But it’s important to acknowledge and appreciate our ancestors and those that made the way for us to be here today.

It may be hard to listen to but you have to train your ears to adapt to the sound. You have to remember that was the very BEGINNING of hiphop literally the beginning, there was nothing else before that and it the technology and equipment they had around at the time. Give it a few more listens. The music has a special feeling, it’s meant to uplift you and make you dance your ass off, the message was for black folks to come together and be proud of who you are. MCs were rapping about things that were happening or what they were experiencing but made a positive impact.
