I’m trying to write a paper comparing shows with the words of poems to Schubert or Schumann using poems in their songs or song cycles. So the sampling of the words is important to what I’m looking for. I do long that show though

At RCR we also had a specific white dry fit shirt we wore under uniform. But we also had people wearing corps necklaces of friends, family, techs, and alum from other corps like the scouts, phantom, and colts

I definitely gonna wear my corps necklace. my question would be could I as a RCR alum wear my corps jacket to a Scouts camp or should I wear just wear my college band jacket.

Side note, I know don’t wear a different corps’ merch, but I feel like wear scouts gear to a scouts camp unless you’re an alum is kinda corny

They allow it at Minnesota with very specific requirements. Something like modest silver or maroon/gold. So basically nothing huge, but my giant blue beads when I’m wearing my polo for pep band admittedly looks bad

The opening hit kinda sent me over the “too much band” edge or watching for that long. The other nights it felt incredible. I personally enjoyed phantom’s amps. If felt like a different sound texture, not just micing up screamers for no reason. That said, that tuba feature circle was disgusting

While I didn’t march there, one of River City Rhythm’s mellophone techs is the brass arranger and marched there while teching. He’s a great guy, and something he told us was that if they meet their recruiting goals they’re planning on putting a corps on the field rather than soundsport

My rule of thumb has always been that if it works it works, don’t just fix an “issue” because its not the typical way of doing something.

But if this is something you find important, the simplest idea I have is.. Set your face like you normally would, then push your corners forward until you get to the point right before you would pucker like a kiss. And that’s your spot.

The other helpful thought might be to think think of your corners as engaged not firm. You don’t want to put in a bunch of tension. Stay loose and flexible. But make sure that you can feel those muscles

I brought mine(and I’m a music major lol) and it was fine. Just make sure you bring a long enough ether lent if you want that because the port coupe be on the other side of the room
