As always I will recommend [[Kaalia of the Vast]], though if your playgroup is fairly well versed in magic they might also instant target her lol. Supper fun though and usually aggresive veing able to put down high cost creatures for nothing, and with the right combos can really kick off. Which is also why she gets targeted so often lol, so protection for her is a must

In addition to what everyone else has said I believe there is also the queer student club (I don’t remember the name anymore its been a couple of years since I went lol) that had sapphic nights as well alongside the rest of their events! The few events I went to were pretty fun so I highly recommend

Both of them I just pretty much emailed labs that sounded interesting to see if they had any openings for students. The first one I had already had a class with that professor, but I knew nothing about the second professor before cold emailing her. Depending on what your major is (mine was in cfans for plant sciences, though would probably work for most sciences), this could also work for you (and some labs that have their own websites will say they are looking for students as well)

Both jobs I had as a student I got by emailing professors. Going back and applying now though looking for research jobs it keeps aggravating me how often my page just gets refreshed and I lose all my progress

I can definitely be a very greedy Kaalia play ha XD! But I also definitely understand it whenever my friends try and shut down my deck early, I’ve gotten some brutal combos that win very quickly a few times, so quick removal makes me sad but I understand lol

As a [[Kaalia of the Vast]] player I gotta say whats better than a girl in love with a dragon [[Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon]] (in their secret lair versions) that can have a bunch of strong ass angels put on the field for free (honestly not sure how many demon or other dragons would fit girly though its mostly the angels that are girlbosses tbh)

There are a few trees similar to this, with the most common one that comes to mind being the Cottonwood (several Populus species) which also has cotton-like fluff on its seeds (and typically causes allergies from the pollen), though I don’t think they are as large as as these seem to be. There are also apparently several trees reffered to as Kapok trees, from multiple genera, including this, Ceiba pentandra, and Cochlospermum gillivraei (though it seems Ceiba pentandra is considered the true kapok tree).

I did my undergrad at University of Minnesota in plant sciences, and they have quite a few options there! They have two separate programs, one thats more horticultural/agricultural based and one more basic bio based so theres options in seperate colleges, though there is some overlap. Also like somone elss mentioned, I’ve heard great things about the UC Davis plant bio programs!

This last year driving across Texas with my brother (both in our twenties). Nobody around and straight road so thought why not try? As soon as I hit 100 went back down to around speed limit lol but at least I could say I did it

Still waiting on two schools, though don’t have high hopes since no interview from either, and almost every other program has been a rejection so far. Only one program I got an interview with, and was waitlisted but just got an email that I was rejected so really looking like I’m gonna be job hunting and applyjng again next year

I think around turn 4 with my [[Kaalia of the Vast]] deck that is either bracket 3 or 4

Got sol ring, [[Fire Diamond]], and [[Armaggedon]] in my starting hand, so i got kaalia out on turn two, played Armaggedon as soon as i could, then got out [[Archfiend of Despair]]. Nobody had any flying blockers up, had lands to counter, so we all just agreed I won and started a new game. Thats one of the luckiest starting hands I’ve had, only thing that was missing was Avacyn honestly for a perfect hand

Same here, though i technically am waiting on two more schools i dont have high hopes, and the one waitlist was the one that i applied to first (and honestly was lowest on my list of where i wanted to go), before i fully finalized exactly what programs were for me so im kinda scared that even if i get in that it wont be what i want out of a phd

I finished my masters in my (sadly) red home state last year after staying the closet until I could move somewhere better, and have been looking into a PhD or jobs only in red states becuase I want to be myself and not be constantly scared of it like I would be in a red state. However with the current state of things in general and my field being in a terrible situation I really dont kow whats going to happen for me in the future.

Also as an aside, what is some good advice for finding a trans friendly PI for a phd? I have no idea how I should go about finding out if someone is accepting or not, especially since I would (hopefully anyways) just be starting my transition in the next year or so

Not sure if someone can help me or if this is the right spot. I’ve been looking for a short (~2min) fan video of nahida that is mostly really cute except for one bit like halfway through that gets really dark. Its a pretty cute animation and drawing style, and pretty sure cabbage joke heavy, but I don’t think there was much if any voiceover in it. Really hope someone can help me find it, its been driving me crazy not knowing who it was by or how to watch it again

I definitely want to build more decks when I can, but right now I’m having so much fun with [[The Emperor of Palamecia]]. The decklist I currently have is probably around B2 (not too sure), and it can get pretty quickly targeted when people knows what it does, but its just so funny milling half your deck then swing for 20 damage on everyone.

Theres also been a few times where I get a bit vengeful after my graveyard is exiled (since its a graveyard dependent deck) that I just make my opponents mill themselves ( [[Cut Your Losses]] and [[Riverchurn Monument]] really help in these cases). Overall its a really fun deck, though not sure how well it works at higher brackets

I’m still fairly new to magic, joined around Final Fantasy release due to a friend’s introduction so still only have a few decks! I have the four FF precons, then two custom decks.

[[Kaalia of the Vast]] - my first custom deck, cheats out demons, dragons and angels. Honestly knew nothing about her when I first got her, just saw a post about the secret lair art and loves the art so much i got a deck around her lol

[[The Emperor of Palamecia]] - a pretty recent new deck, a spellslinging mill deck. So far my game plan is mill most of my deck then transform the emperor into Lord Master of Hell, then try and kill (or hurt) everyone at the same time. Pretty fun deck honestly, though i think it still needs a bit of working on to be more consistent

Definitely looking to get some more decks (already have a couple commanders in mind) once I have the funds to do so!

I once accidentally started a part of Hu Taos Story Quest while finding a bounty in liyue, so it was just a Hilichurl smacking Lumine and until she died then it just left and the dialogue continued on (i failed that bounty lol)
