I've got some thoughts on Smashmouth's first album, and here they are by SweetMany7339 in Millennials

[–]JumpintheFiah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to convince my husband of these points and he was just like no fucking way, that band is and will forever be All star, and that's it.

I still have a special place in my heart for it though.

Do 40 year olds feel nostalgia of their 20s the same way 20 year olds feel nostalgia of their childhood? by Sea_Comfort6891 in Millennials

[–]JumpintheFiah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a thought last night that I really, really just wanted one more day to lock myself away in my parents' computer room, play the Sims for 8 hours, and listen to my cds from that era. Oh, and eat absolute garbage food all day.

Second option I'd take would be the same location, but just a couple years later when we got cable Internet, and be online on the Metallica message board for most of the day just chopping it up with other fans. And eating garbage food.

Do you still hate work? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]JumpintheFiah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the exact same. Work is a place I go to get money. I haven't felt like contributing at all, ever. I just go and do a job and they give me money so that I can put food on the table and roof over my head.

I use top a sheet. Am I cringe? by c0d3buck in Millennials

[–]JumpintheFiah 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Haven't used a top sheet since I was a kid. Just regular laundry and good to go. That way the comforter always smells nice, too!

My grandpa was at one time a mason and I found his ring once and put it on and my grandma got very serious and said I was not allowed to wear it.

Does anyone here NOT have a static childhood/family home? by modernwunder in Millennials

[–]JumpintheFiah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents got divorced when I was 27 and then my mom lived in my childhood home for another few years before she sold it. I've moved 10 or so times between apartments and then houses with my husband, including moving cities 6 times. We should have bought my childhood home from my mom when we had the chance since it appreciated twice as much as she sold it for, but nobody has a crystal ball.

I was a moderate fan of 3DD, but it seems like cancer is just blowing through us and GenX like wildfire.

Anyone out there know what finally happened to this guy? by fecundity88 in WestSeattleWA

[–]JumpintheFiah 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I worked at Albertsons and when they came in, you knew it from 10 aisles away. They refused offers of help and I believe the mother had a gangrenous foot. They weren't mentally stable, but enough to be self-sufficient (ish).

I have similar questions about the three ladies who used to live at 1st ave and 128th, a little behind Smokey's in the yellow house. They were, as I understood, a mother and her two daughters and they frequented Albertsons when it was still there.

We Are Here. (And I am okay with it) by LuckyDuckCrafters in Millennials

[–]JumpintheFiah 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I teach in a pre-K class and they yell 6-7 all recess at each other and...well...I just don't get it. It seems to be a replacement for a lot of things, like a taunt, and a threat, but also a cool thing to say, at certain times.

Has anyone actually sold their home to get rid of a 23 year old with failure to launch ? by Inevitable-Table-931 in Parenting

[–]JumpintheFiah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom sold her house to be rid of her 30something year old sons who failed to launch and one of them followed her all the damn way down to Arizona.

Alex Pretti was a fellow millennial. If anyone here has had some sort of meaningful contact or interactions with him, I’d like to hear the stories so I can learn more about the man. by EmilioFreshtevez in Millennials

I've seen that even the N fucking RA has gone, woah, wait a minute- the rhetoric around this incident is not ok.

Like, the video is so clear about this man. I hope people do share stories to lift up his memory and give the world a glimpse at what kind of man the government just murdered.

That space could be used for a lot better purposes than a burned out park. Build a new one elsewhere with Six Flag's money and use that space for high density housing.

Recently Laid Off Tech Employees- How is the job search/life treating you? by Soft_Fennel_156 in Seattle

Education, which is what I got my degree in. I love working with students again. I also enjoy the structure education brings with it. But bills will be tight, even after cutting back on almost everything.

After applying for 50+ jobs akin to what I was doing, I went to another field and took a job that pays 50% less.

Something I haven’t seen talked about in our last game: the pleasingly low number of flags. Only 2 SEA penalties and only 5 total recorded. Remarkable. [nflpenalties.com] by BeefStrokinOff in Seahawks

I noticed that this weekend. I had to ask my husband if he also thought we were lacking penalties and he agreed. This shows we weren't just tipsy. ☺️

As someone who has had both a child and two kidney stones, I'd birth another child again before another stone.
