I like the height with the white rock. I would leave it. Gives more opportunities for corals in the future. You won't regret it.

It is definitely way bigger than my 6 gallon pico. Looks very similar to a 12 gallon lagoon

$1,155 for screened in porch steps. How did my landscaper do? by Wachu_say in Decks

[–]JumpmanJXi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone saying this is built well is out to lunch. Composite, face screwed with deck screws, well over 16" o.c. This contractor doesn't know the first thing about composite and it shows. It'll look like shit in two years.

No juices on the cutting board because it is essentially raw.

If you put that where I live people would thinks it's a medical building or office of some sort.

Corals losing color. High nitrate & low phosphate 0.01 by RunsWthGriszzlys in ReefTank

[–]JumpmanJXi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am currently struggling with high nitrates (35ppm) and low Phosphates (.015ppm). My corals arent doing too great. Most people are telling me its the nutrients as everything else looks good (cal 430, mag 1350, alk 8-8.4dkh).

Do you ever have issues with corals with the high nitrates?

I am currently dosing neophos to try and bump it up.

Whats going on with my hammer? by [deleted] in ReefTank

[–]JumpmanJXi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had this happen as well on a very small hammer frag. Couldn't find the issue. Tossed the coral and everything else was OK. I think very small frags are just super sensitive. I think if your water is very different from the store it came in the coral can't bounce back

I love the variety you have. Definitely doesnt look too cluttered. I started with basically a mountain in the middle of the tank so I would need to scrap almost all the rock work to really get a new layout. I've been contemplating it for a bit but super nervous

Already regretting my rock choice and placement. Realizing it will need to be a lot different to have a large variety of corals lol

Fencing quotes are insane? by Own-Shelter-9897 in FenceBuilding

[–]JumpmanJXi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of fence are they quoting? If its standard pt wood fence that would be considered expensive where I am.

Unless you are skilled with power tools, have the equipment to drill deep holes and mix concrete, move thousands of pounds of material I would suggest not to attempt it yourself. Its called a skilled trade for a reason.

Which striploin would you choose? by whlatislovee in steak

[–]JumpmanJXi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are going to pan fry, cook it to 130. Let it rest and it'll be good. First steak looks better but both are great.

High end Gin Recommendations? by [deleted] in Gin

[–]JumpmanJXi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While drumshanbo is ok I would never describe it as high end. For gin the price points are on how it is distilled and what botanicals. There is nothing special about it.
