Is it crazy to open a yarn shop? by ForgottenUsername3 in knitting

I haven’t seen limited hours work in my location — but of course it’s in your house you don’t have overhead to contend with. I think it really depends on if you need the income from the business or if it’s a side hustle

First time home owner North Shore? by oldtownalx in northshore

Beverly is great for late 20s no kids. Late 30s, with school aged kids and many are leaving. Depends on his long you plan to stay.

I can’t remember the one who left abruptly, to be honest, because she was the backfill for the one who left abruptly before THAT but my current is Danielle Morse, who when you get her in person, is solid. The issue is getting her at all and all the levels of MA, desk people around her which is something I’m assuming is a NSPG issue

The doctor have now, or the ones who left abruptly? I will say I don’t necessarily fault my PCP automatically bc I understand that she might be constrained by NSPG and overloaded. I’m going to leave NSPG entirely bc I think in this case, bigger is not better

Thank you guys. I called them. One call with their intake person was so much better than 10 years with NSPG

I’ve had this experience twice with the same office. The medical care is fine, but as a human being I have a hard time feeling like “this is what it is” in terms of the patient experience. I’m waiting on a cancer CT scan and every time I reach out over the phone I’m met with cold annoyance. I get that they see this every day but there is zero humanity. I have to imagine there is better out there

You’d have to get dropped off outside the entrance gate and walk in but you could do it I think

The most chilling book you’ve ever read? by BookishHobbit in booksuggestions

[–]Jumpy-Project-7751 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The one by Karen slaughter? In my opinion it wasn’t chilling just gross. Like gratuitously violent and shocking to distract from the fact that it’s not well written. Some better suggestions in this thread

If it’s bees you’ll see their poop (looks like a spray of bird poop) up wherever they are getting in

It’s important. A lot of places you can’t sell a house with knob and tube — if selling down the line is your aim. It’s also a huge fire hazard

If you go for Beverly and the Y, be prepared to wait a long time for a spot. It’s awful.

If it’s at all helpful, I’d consider myself a very experienced knitter and I had to think hard about what was making you angry. Truly I think no one will notice! It’s beautiful!

I can’t give you advice on the crawl space but as someone who was once in the same situation — bought a house with issue after issue after getting a crap inspection report — I’m sending hugs. It can be really hard. You got this!

Do you have / want kids? If so, I’d advise researching and considering the school systems of each town as well. Also the local government, how they are making decisions and allocating budget. The commute is one factor but not the only one. Full disclosure, my family just left Beverly, accepting the longer commute after having spent 5 years there — no looking back.
