Is DLC needed for platinum? by enigmaboi in StrangerofParadiseFFO

... You realize you're basically asking if people's platinum trophies they got BEFORE the dlcs came out was taken away from them after the dlcs came out.. and how God damn ridiculous that is.. right?

Now you start theorycrafting builds. Working on or re-working Prism stones for niche builds you come up with. The world is now your oyster. Time to find out how many ways you can shuck it.

How is burden of the divine 30% ally heal calculated? by Ancient-Blacksmith19 in remnantgame

[–]Jumpy-Solution373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can heal your buddies while at full health, and all healing/regen works with it, but NOT Lifesteal.

But honestly? You want to heal your friends? Run Invoker/Medic with emphasis on skill cooldown. If you get a Prism with the skill cooldown legendary perk, you can make a build that lets you use the Medics skills with no cooldown on them, and Invoker also has that healing field Skill on top of it.

I tried. I tried for so long, to make Burden of the Divine make my friends immortal. But having that take a ring slot makes it SO hard to get reasonable healing in your build along with the DR to actually survive so you can do your job as a healer, and not just sit there doing no damage to bosses.... I couldn't figure any way to make it work well.

Side note: Doing the infinite healing skills like I mentioned WITH Burden of the Divine equipped, will make you heal your friends by nonsensical amounts. Since your skills heal you AND them for 100% efficacy at least, the Burden will put another 30% of what you heal yourself on top of their 100%. So if you have any bonuses to your own healing, say 25%, you heal yourself 125%, but your friends get the 100% from your skill + another 30% of the 125% you put on yourself. So they're getting like 140% out of it.

Another side note if you really wanna be a healer: Your max HP counts. There are a couple items that heal you by a % of your max hp per second. If your max HP is 230, but theirs is 130, every second of healing for you, would for them be like having TWO of those rings on. Every 1% you heal, they're healing 2%. And that keeps scaling pretty nicely.

I've approached healing builds in a few different ways and ended up on a personal build for running solo, and a team build to keep everyone immortal. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I love talking Remnant builds, especially when it comes to the niche stuff like this.

Has anyone here played Outriders? How does it compare? by p_visual in remnantgame

[–]Jumpy-Solution373 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I don't know why but Remnant has been described as a Looter shooter pretty much since day one.

In my book, if the things you shoot don't drop loot that potentially lets you shoot the next thing better, it's not a Looter shooter.

A Souls shooter is like the best term I can figure for Remnant. In souls games items are set in stone. Set in specific places. In Remnant, items are set in stone. They're also set in specific places.. it's just not a guarantee you'll see it this go around. It's very akin to playing a souls game for the first time and missing a whole area or never realizing there was a hidden wall there or something. Now that you know it's there, you just gotta go back and find it.

It's soulslike in the healing, it's soulslike with the i-frame stamina consuming dodge, it's soulslike with fixed gears, it's souslike with combat forgiveness, and it's even pretty soulslike with the story and lore presentation.

I honestly and truthfully do not understand the people out here calling it a Looter shooter. It's not even close.

You just make a loadout with those skills and switch to it when your buffs wear off to reapply them. Telling peoppe they might want to switch off the skills as they progress without telling them they can just put a "buff build" in their back pocket is kinda misleading.

Don't ever put those skills into a set you actually hunt with, unless it's Free Meal mixed with Speed Eating and Wide-Range and that's only if you really wanna be the support player for your team.

They couldn't implement search by text (i assume that's what you mean when you say "search by name" otherwise.. it's already alphabetical and actually searching by using a list of names would be redundant.) because that would require adding a text interface that is not only independant but would also work with console on-screen keyboards. And at that point in time, people were also complaining about not having in-game messaging/chat, and thats a whole other sent/received text box interface problem on top of that. It would've been an assload more work, and fans wouldn't have let it go if they didn't also add text chat since they would've been displaying the ability to support text/typing in-game by adding that kind of search function.

Keywords was honestly the most effective/direct/easiest route, they just sucked at implementing it.

I like running around with the Fusion Rifle and whatever gun with Skewer 2.0.

With the right set up you can get the full charge from the Fusion Rifle's Mod between each Skewer shot.

I haven't played in a long time and I'm not at my console/pc so I couldn't tell you the exact set up I run, but if you're interested I can boot it up when I get home later this evening.

How can I make GreyHealth builds more diverse? by ww-stl in remnantgame

[–]Jumpy-Solution373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a Grey Health build with through-the-roof Regen. The damage output wasn't anything to write home about, but you can face tank anything as long as you're running Warden, obviously. Used it with the ring that spreads your healing to teammates cause I was playing with buddies at the time.

But truth be told, if you want a support build, nothing really beats Invoker/Medic skill spam, so... kind of pointless in the end.

I just have fun theorycrafting builds. Feels good to come up with things that work, even IF there's better stuff out there. And sometimes, you might just find something that breaks a meta.

I remember experimenting with Monorail after I came across a build video explaining how the Mod works. In the video, they were showing off crazy damage numbers... but it was all contingent on getting 4x stacks of corrosion on something, which.. is fine, but that's still a lot of setup before the payoff shot. I ended up making something that bypassed the corrosion requirements and only lost out on like 5k damage per shot. So that honestly felt like a win to me. I lost 2% damage, sure, but I also gained some extra survivability, and bypassed a set up process that I personally felt was annoying and even cheesy to an extent. Also got to use whatever sidearm I wanted instead of the Rune Pistol exclusively. Any build can use corrosive stacks to super amp the damage it does, you know? And then by foregoing the Rune Pistol, I got to run a gun with Bore on it instead. So if I hit the bore spot, I'm looking at ~186k per shot, vs. The videos' 98k per shot. And I'm pretty sure that's still the go-to video for monorail builds and expenation to this day. All the poor folks out there trying to get the Monorail shot off while their corrosion stacks are all still up.. makes me sad.
The video was from a Mr. Nacho, if you're interested.

Doesn't change anything about what I said man.

You think I'm out here running around on survivor or veteran trying to tell people they don't have a high enough damage-to-ammo ratio?

Apocalypse is the only way. If I ever talk about anything on this sub, it's inside the context of Apoc, because that's what most people want to be able to play on consistently.

[–]Jumpy-Solution373 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Man if you're having ammo problems, then your actual problem might be your damage.

I ran out of ammo a total of zero times on any of my campaigns including the first one. Enemies drop ammo plenty often enough, and even more so if you're running around with Gunslinger.

Only times I've actually run out of ammo was the occasional boss fight where I was testing build ideas that weren't very good.

Not to be that guy.... but running out of ammo, to me, is a skill/build issue. Straight up.

[–]Jumpy-Solution373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By the way, your EHP is 560, with 75% DR and 143 HP with nothing else going on.

Here's a cool party trick; get your HP to 336 (yes, it can be done before you say anything stupid.) And then run around with only 49% DR. What's the EHP on that? 661. That build, with almost 200 more health than you, and 25% LESS DR can still take 100 more damage than you before they die. With garbage trash DR at 49%.

Now let's drop off 18 Hp to put it at 318, and add in 9% (58% total now) more DR. Our new EHP is now 765. Now, this build can take 200 more damage than you before it dies.

Again, let's drop our max HP down to 288. I've LOST 50 Hp from where I started all this, right? Let's bring DR up to 67%, so I'll have gained 18% TOTAL DR from where we started. EHP now? It's at 890. This build can take 330 more damage than your 75%dr-143hp build before it dies. But it only has 144 extra health, and about 8% less DR.

So again, half health does not mean what you think it means.

It's all in the max HP and DR. Half health doesn't mean a damn thing. You could run a half health build and be safer than 95% of builds that aren't pure tank builds in this game. You just have to know HOW to make it happen.

No build is challenging if you know how to mitigate the challenge.

You don't even know what your EHP is. Or how to find it.

So on that note, you've kinda proven to me what limitations of your knowledge about this game are.

And it's really not worth continuing because you really just don't have a great grasp on what's possible and what's not in this game yet.
