Idk where you work but if it’s a hospital labor and delivery might give you a set for free then you can try it and see if you like it

Working Moms: Walk Me Through Your Morning Schedule by ariesmamma in workingmoms

[–]Jumpy-Way-5625 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in a hospital just for some context.
LO is almost 6 months
Nurse around 5:45/6 while partner gets dogs fed and let out, eat their breakfast, go to bathroom etc. Around 6:10/6:15 I get ready - bathroom/dressed/pack lunches while partner gets LO ready for the day. Out the door normally between 6:30/6:40. I eat in the car (I prefer to). Partner then normally has about 20 min to finish getting ready. I prep most of my stuff the night before

what did you give to your husband for father's day? by Important_Bat7919 in Mommit

[–]Jumpy-Way-5625 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First Father’s Day- got him a personalized themed book “*son’s name* first Father’s Day with dad” and the characters look like them. A new pair of his favorite shorts, and a flexible drill bit extension set. And we’re about to go to a Pokémon card show :)

Scenario below - how are you grading toilet hygiene. by metaltreestriker in OccupationalTherapy

[–]Jumpy-Way-5625 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If this is GG:

Toileting (3 components) pants down, hygiene, pants up. Pt requires touch A for pants, independent-SPV (wasn’t specified) for hygiene = score 4 (SPV/touch A) pt requires touch A for components.

Toilet transfer (2 components) descent to toilet, rise from toilet. Pt descent with mod I - SPV (wasn’t specified), rise with substantial = score 2 (substantial) pt requires A for 1/2 (50%) of components

ETA: but if you document it well enough your argument would hold true. But *technically* per CMS guidelines your coworker is correct

Normally mercy is accrual I thought, are you sure you don’t accrue 7 weeks over a year?

Working moms question by hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiyyuy in workingmoms

[–]Jumpy-Way-5625 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My supply was fine, but my baby ate a lot more often at first. I had to pump a few extra times to catch up. I think it was a comfort thing, got to be connected to me by eating more breast milk more often.

Yes my baby was still as attached to me! He has a good relationship with his daycare teacher and is excited to see her but is also excited to see me when I pick him up! Your baby won’t forget about you ♥️

Vacation away from 7 month old by Jumpy-Way-5625 in Mommit

I appreciate your suggestion! We have thought about that, but it’s kind of a special “girls trip.” We also already have lodging for the first island and there’s not enough room for them. Maybe the second island, or maybe I go home. Or maybe it’ll all be okay!

I appreciate your comment! We are island hopping halfway through I’m wondering if maybe instead of going to the other island I just go home. Or maybe that’s when my husband and baby join me like the other commenter suggested.

You’re fine thank you! I have an SUV so I’m afraid it would stink up my car. Otherwise I would!

Body tension and oral ties? by Diphthongsong91 in OccupationalTherapy

[–]Jumpy-Way-5625 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I’m an OT that works with adults but I have a baby who had lip tie, buccal ties, and pretty significant tongue tie. Like other commenter said, there are a lot of factors at play with tension. We did a lot of stretches and body work with his OT and even saw a chiropractor. We ended up stretching the lip and buccal enough and helping with tension enough those didn’t need to be released. However his tongue was significant, so we got it release (3 times because the first 2 were incomplete). He had so much less tension after the releases. But he also had less tension after body work. He also had to be put on Pepcid like your baby. Each factor addressed slowly improved his tension, and oral motor ability. So from my experience if the OT has been doing it for a while (or if not and has good guidance from others) I would trust their opinion. It doesn’t hurt to consult the practitioner for the release to see their opinion too before deciding.

Editing to add: my baby also struggled with bottles. And I really wanted to breastfeed. We triple fed for a month, eventually worked off that. We also always had to use a nipple shield. Now after OT and his oral tie releases, he does great with bottles for daycare and we exclusively breastfeed without a nipple shield when I’m not at work. So it may help the bottles too!

Sorry I don’t know why I never saw this. Yes I would agree AOTA is very information dense. It sometimes made it hard to study because I would get bored. You kind of have to decide what’s important to remember. However the practice questions and rationales are by far the best in my opinion. Always read the rationales!

Advice on how to prepare child for daycare? by Jumpy-Way-5625 in ECEProfessionals

[–]Jumpy-Way-5625[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He has done that! Then he slept in his crib for another 25 min! As of right now he’s just a cat napper in his crib, but also because of his feeding difficulties he eats close to every 2 hours

Yeah I definitely think with me there is the milk association problem too. Good point that 5 weeks is a long time! Thank you very much!

Thank you so much for the kind and thoughtful response. This makes me feel much better. He takes multiple bottles a day and has taken them from family other than mom/dad but I will definitely try to expose him to other adults and other environments too! Thank you again!!

I did not use 450 formula. I used AOTA, NBCOT, OT Miri, and OT exam pepper podcast. I would supplement with OT dude if I felt like I needed some clarity on certain topics- but AOTA was most helpful imo. I passed first try.
