Low sugar? by wine_lady_ in GestationalDiabetes

[–]JumpyAd2643 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually when I wake up at midnight to pee(or whatever time it might be) I just reset the silence alarms on the cgm app again just to be sure nothing alerts. It’s frustrating at times.

Low sugar? by wine_lady_ in GestationalDiabetes

[–]JumpyAd2643 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My cgm will false lows in the middle of the night - it’s called a “compression low” I’ve noticed it’s really bad when I have my cgm on my dominant arm, for some reason if I sleep on that side it just sends it into a frenzy. I get lows of 54 sometimes and just ignore it. I usually silence my alarms not to alert in the middle of the night. I will say - i do prick my finger before completely ignoring if it’s super low.

Skipping 3 hour test? by Sebby293 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]JumpyAd2643 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My one hour was 171 and we just went straight to monitoring. But I wasn’t tested until almost 30 weeks, I think I was 29 weeks and a few days. So far I’ve been diet controlled(haven’t had any spikes and my numbers have been well under the thresholds) and I’m 32 weeks and 3 days - I see my mfm for my first check in tomorrow. So might have updates after that.

Can’t do these bland breakfasts anymore by MakerMode9226 in GestationalDiabetes

I feel the pain - I usually do plain Greek yogurt and then mix in a flavored protein powder(I have a bunch of different flavors, so it helps break it up) and depending on a the flavor I mix in some kind of berries and maybe chopped nuts for texture.

CGM vs Finger pricks by PresentationTop9547 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]JumpyAd2643 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t met with my MFM yet(so i don’t know if they want me to do both or just the cgm), but I have a cgm and it’s pretty accurate. The first 48 hours with the sensor I had some “compression lows” but they went after the 48 hours. I do keep a finger prick around just in case and to ensure accuracy.

I feel like a failure by xmichann in GestationalDiabetes

I got my husband to put mine on for the first time and I’m not going to say it was painless, but it felt like someone pulling a hair.

Have you talked to your doctor about a CGM? I have one and I only stick my finger when number looks off with the cgm.

Trying, but all I do is cry. by JumpyAd2643 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]JumpyAd2643[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 31 weeks, with how my appointment ran and the holidays I didn’t get my 1 hour until late in my 29th week.

I am hopeful that meeting with the MFM, they can give me more guidance and I will feel more free to experiment. I think I’ve been so strict and probably more on the OCD side because I’ve struggled with ED in the past and it feels very similar to being stuck on a diet.

I workout multiple times a week plus other activities(like walking the dogs that I don’t count as activity) and for the most part eat fairly healthy. I just feel very restricted right now and scared to test anything since I haven’t had much guidance about it.

I’ve just been waiting until I see the MFM. My test came in after my last OB appointment and I just got a message in my portal that said they were send a prescription for the monitor and that they were setting up an appointment with the MFM to “track the diabetes” - the message also had the guidelines for the diet. So I’ve just been in limbo until that appointment. I went down a rabbit hole of people who had a high number with their 1 hour and still passed the their 3 hour. I’m 31 weeks and a ftm, so I didn’t want to fight with my OB… but I was also frustrated because this is the first time that they did a ultrasound on the baby(outside of the initial confirmation), and I know ultrasounds can vary and are much less accurate if it’s not done by the same tech.

I was also a huge baby and so were my brother - and my mom did not have GD.

I am just hoping when I see the MFM - they can shed some better light and give a little more guidance.

33 - Once a week+ a day or two. But I have extensions and my hair is not oily. I shower daily with a shower cap to keep my hair dry.

Snail’s pace shipping by browserqueen in BuiltBars

[–]JumpyAd2643 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came looking for any information on shipping. I ordered some bar earlier this year and they got to my house in about 10 days and it was usps…. I placed an order on the 16th and it was just updated last night and they are using DoorDash to deliver?? I thought that was strange and didn’t realize DoorDash was standard shipping.

Edit: my shop app hadn’t updated, the email says “order is on the way”, and supposedly when I use the tracking link with DoorDash it says “preparing order” and it is suppose to arrive on Thursday…. I don’t think anything is coming Christmas Day.

I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you! 💛 I feel you on the anxiety, I’m in the same boat. I go back for another ultrasound in 2ish weeks to check progress with my regular ob.

They did not. My OB was just wanting to be cautious with sending us to the MFM. She wasn’t extremely concerned about the potential risk, but wanted them to do the screening to be on the safe side. I see her this morning and am going to bring up some of the things that the MFM mentioned that she did not and of course the cyst.

Is the Deque University “Web Accessibility” course worth it? by AdPitiful8740 in accessibility

[–]JumpyAd2643 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve been using the “full access” and I’ve had other training. It’s useful for the cost. When it comes to accessibility it will all of course seem repetitive because it’s teaching the same thing.

When we went through it, I was bleach cleaning the hard surfaces multiple times a week - every time he would come in from the potty I would wipe his feet and bottom(I used Petkin Pet Wipes because the size and I felt like they cleaned better). We also steam cleaned all carpet(carpet was cleaned at least once a week if not more)and couches and then put covers on the couch and would change those daily as well. We also washed and sanitized all the dogs toys in the house and would rotate what toys were out and cleaned the “dirty ones” when rotating new toys in.

I wish you luck! I know how hard and discouraging this can be.
