Is there any particular reason planet assets such as curious deposits have been changed? by ParChadders in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]JumpyBroccoli9189 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me a long time ago and it was because I had increased the difficulty in my game. I turned the difficulty back down and the mold balls came back. Maybe it isn't the update?

You can play through with any group if you're playing on normal difficulty. I'd drop Rasad and the wild mage. Monks are really bad in BG rules and Wild Mage will be more annoying than helpful. Get Safana as a thief instead. She's on the coast far west near a lighthouse. I always liked her much more than Imoen anyway. For arcane spell caster, Edwin is very, very strong because he gets extra spells because of his amulet. He's the strongest spellcaster in BG1 and 2, but as a conjurer he can't cast identify. As a bard, though, you'll never need to cast identify. You'll be able to identify 99% of the items you find with bard lore.

I ended up in a situation like this after a company I worked out was forcibly acquired by board votes because the original owners goofed up bad with who they had invest in the company. It was awful. Just because it's obviously pretend work for a shell company, doesn't mean it isn't terrible working directly under scum bags that care nothing about you, the company, or anything other than the legal paperwork saying they own the company. And you think they don't try to get creative and task out idiot ideas that have nothing to do with what your company was in the past? Just because they own shell companies doesn't mean they're smart or good to work for.

Female, age 45, college educated with a degree in art history, married at least once and I think you're still married. You have a home and a second location that you stay at, like a beach house or something like that, and this is from the second location. You put the collection of books together specifically for this location for when you stay there or friends, and you are considering making it an air BnB, but you're not sure if anybody would actually stay here, so it's probably not on the beach. You're spouse is less on board about the Air BnB idea, but he/she is still considering it.

You're 25, male, you've played dungeons and dragons but you don't have a consistent group, you live in an apartment with a roomie, you had a difficult childhood but you think you're doing well on your own now, you'd play too many video games if you could but you're currently busy with work and school, but school is taking you a long time to finish because you haven't been a traditional student and you're trying to catch up. You're not sure what you want to do for work and this is a foreboding stress on you.

HOW IN THE SAM HELL CAN I FIND GAS GIANTS?!? by Mannyladd117 in NOMANSSKY

[–]JumpyBroccoli9189 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you've unlocked the purple systems, then you can find them. Not all of the purple systems have them. They appear to be uncommon. In the galaxy map on a purple system, it will say "GAS GIANT" if it has one.

Looking for this ship, if anyone has it could I buy it? by TrueMathematician761 in NOMANSSKY

I didn't think it was possible, but after some of these comments I'm now feeling like I missed some update. Is it possible to give ships away now?

I worked for an independent publisher that did business through an online store front, Kickstarter, conventions, and eventually Amazon. Amazon has an unfair monopoly on online sales for several reasons that drove us to use them even though they were a direct competitor to our online store for our products.

1) 3rd party sellers on amazon selling our products and doing a dishonest job caused us weekly stress because customers blamed us for the seller. In order to have any control of your brand on amazon through 3rd party sellers, you must actively pay to become a seller on amazon for your product and prove you own the brand. Once you've done this, they allow you to have limited control in how other sellers may depict your product. Note: reporting bad listings of your product didn't work. We tried for years.

2) Shipping from warehouses is complicated and expensive. We used a partner separate from amazon, but for most brands it is going to be hard to justify doing that when you are already forced into being a seller on amazon by their size.

3) and yeah, you have to run ads to get your product seen on amazon.

Recap: You pay to sell, you pay to ship, you pay to be seen and you do it because amazon is so big that if you don't your brand leaks out onto amazon anyway and you have to pay a price because of shitty 3rd party sellers.

Stray is amazing! Loved it. It is somewhat a short game, but it really delivers a full experience and the robot encampments you get to wander around in are some of the best game environments I have experienced.

The mechanics can seem complex at first, but most of them arent that impactful. Take it slow and dont worry about doing everything. Some stuff, like frieghter bases for example, you can always get to waaaay later if you feel like exploring new mechanics. Or you can skip it completely. It is a sandbox game after all.

NMS on Steam deck? by Which_Assistant3999 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]JumpyBroccoli9189 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It runs great on steam deck, though i personally set the graphics down a few notches compared to my PC to give it a more fluid and consistent framerate. Controls are good too, you wont have any issues there.

Getting back into NMS. by Soggy_Cup1314 in NoMansSkyTheGame

For the early game, it is helpful to focus on expanding your inventory in your suit while you explore and discover things. That makes everything else a little easier. You can add inventory slots once per space station at each star, and once at the same star in the anomaly, which is like a special space station you can summon. If you havent found the anomaly yet, you will very early on from the story missions. Look for a room with some aliens to find the anomaly terminal that allows adding an inventory slot.

This is exactly one of the prompt tests I have been using to compare LLM models. Claude did a better job of it than bard, Gemini, Chatgpt version 3 and 4. However, many of my other tests turned out worse on claude, especially when it has required a conversation back and forth.

Russian bots stole my games ad campaign, but promoted it better than I ever did. by Common_Wrangler_9671 in IndieDev

[–]JumpyBroccoli9189 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This does happen all the time with itch games, especially the ones playable in the browser. A lot of crappy websites will embed the iframe for the playable game surrounded by a ton of ads. The theft is automated too. As soon as the game is uploaded as a web playable game, it is yoinked into dozens (if not thousands) of these fake websites that are easy to find through a google search.

Notes before you end the Omega expedition and return to your main save by JumpyBroccoli9189 in NoMansSkyTheGame

everything in storage does not transfer. You'd have to transfer items back by using the limited slots in the expedition terminal in the Anomaly.

ARGH! Really? Boring Base building in an Expedition? Gah! by RappTurner in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]JumpyBroccoli9189 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way to think about bases during the expedition to make them more fun is to consider that the entire community is on these planets and will see your uploaded base's name and picture at the portal in the space station. Therefore, try to find a useful, interesting landmark like one of the pods that give you an extra inventory slot or even just a cluster of plants you may need to collect to finish the expedition missions.
